Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of ExcellenceSMU associate head coach visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence
BY OLGUN ULUC · SEPTEMBER 16, 2015 SMU associate head coach Tim Jankovich took a visit to Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence last week, according to sources, with Tom Wilson and Harry Froling the primary targets for the Mustangs. http://pickandroll.com.au/smu-jankovich-visits-coe/
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of ExcellAm I the only one that is beginning to get worried that this is eerily similar to what Jones was doing with the south african rugby players when recruiting in Texas basically collapsed?? Yes the players could be good...but it's contrary to Chad's "I won't fly over a kid here to get the same kind of recruit from out of state" philosophy...

Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excell
I'm not. Australia and Canada produce a decent amount of D-1 caliber basketball players. http://www.newsweek.com/australia-takin ... nba-340050
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of ExcellYes, I think you are the only one getting worried that this is the equivalent of June recruiting South African rugby players.
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excell
How is grabbing an internationally regarded recruit in hoops anything like Jones? This is what we should have been doing this whole cycle. Froling was a monster at Adidas Nations, has offers far better than ours, and has two sisters at the school already. Oh yeah, his lil bro is a monster.
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of ExcellScout on Froling.
Australia native Harry Froling intends to play college basketball in the United States. What schools have reached out already? Froling filled Scout in on his recruitment. A long list of Australians have made their way to the United States to play college basketball and Harry Froling plans to join that long list. “College basketball is definitely something I will be doing and I am really looking forward to the process and chance to go to a college while playing the sport I love,†Froling told Scout. A 6-foot-9, 230-pound post player out of Australian Institute of Sport, Froling will certainly have plenty of collegiate options. On the court, Froling said his strength lies in his versatility and scoring ability. “I'd describe myself as a versatile four that can pick and pop to three and also post up,†Froling said. “I enjoy scoring and getting after the boards along with creating and finding others. So in one word I'd same my game revolves around versatility.†Froling said the next steps in his development center around his conditioning, finishing around the basket better and his defense. Thus far, Froling has picked up interest from New Mexico, UNLV, LMU, Kansas State, Boise State, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Washington State and SMU. He said Boise State is the only school that has come to Australia to see him. He’s yet to take a college visit. http://www.scout.com/college/basketball ... llege-ball
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of ExcellGood to know the kids are big targets. Interesting they are getting attention from other programs as well, I thought we were the only ones. I was worried since SMU has missed on a few big targets that recruiting was taking a dive. I just heard the podcast from one of the $sites and it eased some worries.
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of ExcellI would think we have the inside track on Froling.
It is good for SMU to show a presence in places like Australia producing some good basketball talent. Shake It Off Moody
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of ExcellThe combination of his sisters and Coach Brown at SMU should make it a no-brainer.
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excell
He'll probably end up at Rhode Island 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellhttp://pickandroll.com.au/aussies-colle ... en-201415/
austaria had over 50 players in ncaa last year and 8 in the nba. australians are awesome athletes. plenty of mlb players and they don't even play baseball (just like smu).
Re: Jankovich visits Basketball Australia’s Centre of ExcellI watched some of the Australia/US U17 game. Froling held his own against Diamond Stone. He's crafty around the basket. Wilson can shoot. He had 23 points, 7 boards and 6 assists in the game going against Malik Newman, the #8 ranked player in the class.
