Davis to SuttonCan't wait to see more of that. Those two could play anywhere.
Re: Davis to SuttonI love that we sent the message that we are going there even if the safety tries to help. If we can get a playmaker at a second receiver, this is offense is game on.
Re: Davis to Sutton
This is what I'm thinking. Imagine Audie on the other side, then you have some young guys who will get better in Thomas, etc. Sutton just beat their [deleted] consistently all game long. That guy is the real deal. Been a LOOONG time since we've had someone that good at receiver. He's sort Emmanuel Sanders-esque in terms of playmaking ability. Upside is even higher because of his size and he'll get better.
Re: Davis to SuttonSutton could have had over 300 yards if not for two called back on penalties and then the
too many to count pass interferences on TCU. I hate the college 15 yard penalty for defensive interference. That saved TCU's bacon to the tune of what would have been around 200 additional receiving yards for SMU. SMU Total offense could have easily surpassed 700 yards today. Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: Davis to Sutton
I am glad he could not play at aTm because that is what got him to SMU. #HammerDown
Re: Davis to SuttonWhat a great game these two played.
Re: Davis to SuttonSutton should have had about 50 more yards and at least one more TD with the BS PI call, the holding call (Briggs!) and then the severely underthrown ball to him that could have put us "right there" in the game with 8 minutes to go when it was 42-34. Instead we settled for yet another FG. Too many mistakes and we HAVE to score TDs in the red zone!
Great, great effort. Very proud of these guys. I like our chances in the AAC this year (and beyond). Audie? Fitzgerald? Any stud DL? Come on down!!
