And Seals. Depth at DE is much better than expected.

But wait, aren't these all the same horrible June recruits with few P5 offers that have no business playing D1 football?

(not an endorsement of June in any way shape or form)

Simply an endorsement of the same players who were pretty much all thrown under the bus after last season.

Kind of confused as to what your point is. Can you restate?

Look's like he's trying to insinuate that JJ and staff recruited good D-line players; one of the things he's been criticized for.
Meaning, if they weren't good players, then they wouldn't be playing well despite being coached by CM and staff.

Personally, I don't feel last year's D had much of an opportunity to show what they were capable of when last year's O was so ineffective and unable to stay on the field.

TCU drove the ball right down SMU's thoat on the ground on that last drive. And the RB had over 100 yards rushing I believe. I wouldn't be jumping up and down over the D line's performance yet. We still need to recruit bigger more athletic D lineman. The thing about June's recruiting is that while the JJ suck ups would jump up and down for every under the radar players that did do well there were about 5 to 10 that did not do well and it created quality depth problems. And then yoiu have the JJ preseason contingent that said were just fine for conference play. However, I think Coach Morris wants to win P5 games and not just in conference play.

Pass the mayonnaise to go with this big plate of crow I'm eating after saying he's too small to play in college.

He probably would be a bit small to play LB but the star is a really good fit for him since it is not a linebacker position but a hybrid safety/linebacker position. TCU's rover was about the same size.

Not saying they are great, or even good, but certainly not as horrible as many labeled them last year. New schemes, new attitude, new S&C program........ and the exact same players from last years OLine & DLine seem to be performing at a much higher level. Baylor & TCU offenses going to make everybody look average/bad, but these guys will be able to hold their own with ANY team in the AAC.

Not disagreeing, just in my opinion we need more athletic players like Wood, Briggs and Lasecki that can hold their own in any conference. We'll get there.

Oh, I agree that seeing that last drive, and how they just ran right over us in the run game was atrocious. However, I really feel our guys were wiped due to a lack of depth.
With respect to the entire run defense through out the entire game? Not sure what the issue is/was.

That is what I was saying was lack of depth. But over the course of the entire game how many yards did Green have?

A cursory look at the SMU v TCU play-by-play shows more than 85% of his yards came before that final drive.
