Why? Let's hear it. Because he opposes gay marriage? About half the state (if not more) probably does, too. Should we ban them all from campus? Guess that means no more Dubya on campus either.

Craig James has said some stupid stuff, but so has pretty much everyone who has been in the spotlight for 20+ years. He's one of the best players to ever wear an SMU uniform, and he should always be welcomed back to campus with open arms

yeah, just some innocent, stupid stuff.

"Always be welcomed back to campus with open arms"? Let's let the students on campus take a vote on Mr. James. How much you wanna bet the majority think he's an idiot and don't want anything to do with him.

You're giving our students too much credit. The majority wouldn't think he's an idiot because the majority would have no idea who he is.

Yep, give them more credit than the blind sheep Craig supporters on this thread.

Hey Mr/Ms student, what do you think of Craig James back on campus preaching to our football team?: "Wtf, you mean that ignorant, bigoted wannabe politician that got fired, Craig James?"

No Thanks

I would be pleased to know the results of that vote, and I think it would trend very well for Craig...at least better than his Senate campaign numbers.

Let's take a look at the logic of banning a person from a university for his or her beliefs...that mindset begs the question of 'higher education', much less the 'free exchange of ideas.' But my, it does make things so much more tidy.

I appreciate Craig as an individual, a gifted athlete, and admire his uncompromising stand on the ground and principles he believes is worthy. I am not required to agree with his views in total. If I did, one of us is not necessary.

I happen to believe he would have been a poor Senator. Our government requires compromise on virtually every issue and at every level, and there are issues I know he would not move on. That would make him ineffective, and eventually frustrated by the process..and sadly many fine people choose not to participate in public service for this very reason.

Ban people.
Burn books.
One thought. One people. One Leader.
A seemingly short, knee-jerk reaction to process and control thought and people. Successful in the short-term, deadly in the long.

Thankfully, none of these have been employed by SMU now or in the past.

Craig James is one of the greatest ball carriers to run for SMU.

He was also a state champion at Houston Stratford H S.

He was a very good pro running back.

To top that off he has been a credit to SMU, to his family, to his church, and to the
community. I wish we could recruit many more just like him in the years to come.
I'm glad Chad is utilizing his talents for the benefit of the Mustangs.

For anyone still wondering, that's the SJW mindset.

I frankly ignore the criticism he gets from other people, from what I saw he seems like a genuine guy and was a fantastic running back. I would have killed to be an undergrad to see him and Dickerson on the same field.

I don't care what anyone's politics are, you are not an SMU fan if you don't love and appreciate what Craig James means to this football program, to this university. And you sir are not an SMU fan.

Let's see if he can get ED.

I have complete faith he will get ED and anyone else he wants to involve with the program. So far he has the golden touch and that's only gonna get more obvious with the winning program he is building.

Guys we don't want coach to need a subscription for the blue pill. To wish ed on another man.... Shameful

Why footballdad spends his time with such negative energy on SMU sites escapes me....he must have a miserable life.

Most helicopter football dads trying to relive their youth through their son, or worse trying to gain glory through their sons accomplishments, end up being disappointed and miserable. This guy will roll through here soon enough, have patience.

Someday, ED will do commercials for ED, most likely when all of us on here are needing ED, if we don't already need ED or use ED.

In other news, #29 will be on the sideline and/or be giving speeches to the team at some point, and the team will love it.

How about we let the posters on PonyFans (and any SMU alumni) take a vote on whether we think you're an idiot and don't want anything to do with you?
