Starting guard

Postby JasonB » Fri Sep 25, 2015 12:25 pm

In one of the interviews this week, Craddock indicated that they had an idea of who had performed better at LG last week. It looks like Natour is listed as the starter now on the depth chart. Just FYI.

Also noticed longoria as 3rd on the TE depth chart.... Didn't realize he moved over there.

Longoria is an Athlete ... Played safety/RB in HS ... saw him punt a ball about 75 yards in the air with no wind. I always thought Mason (really Odom, he did not want him) pulled the trigger too quick on moving him out from safety (about 10 plays) his first week of practice. He to me was a classic college strong safety ... 6'3"... at the time 210, ran about 4.48-4.5, major league ups ... and will hit you. Might have been a good fit for the star position when he first showed up.

Longoria technically started at TCU according to SMU Stats

Hmmm, that is interesting. I know he made a visit, but they never offered. His HS position coach Mark Wilson brought him to his SMU visit and told me Derek said if TCU offers he is a Frog. They did not, so he was here first day of fall. Hmmmm

Has Longoria ever punted in a game? Big leg but no control?

No, not to my knowledge. Old regime worked him out at punter for awhile. You are correct ... Big leg, not always a lot of control
