Fans and Cheering

Can someone, anyone, please explain to me why some, I would say the majority of fans that attend SMU games frown upon fans cheering at games. As a former player, that is one thing I could not stand while being down on that field. At any other stadium, fans are on their feet cheering and going nuts. In Ford, if you do you get the police called on to you. People insist on sitting down and conversing about everything BUT the game. I get it if you are there with your kids and fans are cursing up a storm, that is disrespectful and rude. But simply cheering on your team and having the cops called on you is a bit ridiculous. I'm not attending this game because I have military engagements, but to hear from my gf (a former cheerleader) that that happened is confusing to me. Just trying to wrap my head around it. Don't mend to offend anyone or [deleted] anyone off but c'mon. If you want a nice quiet environment to watch the game...do it from the comforts of your home.

I've been to 4 games in last 2 years at ford and I've always left with the same thought. So mad every time.

When I go to Clemson games it is the opposite.

Check out the average age on the SMU side between the 30s - probably 60.
I'm in 205 and at age 56 bring down the average.

Sorry but we lost 25 years of fans and have to rely on fans who remember the good old days to attend.

That's why things are so quite - no youthful energy and - more importantly - every time we get excited we get the inevitable groin kick like tonight.

We are one jaded group of fans but 35 years of futility will do that to a group.
