The coaches are only as good as the players. It's not about x's and o's it's about Jimmie and Joe's. We will get the recruits. Just give it some time. We'll be okay in the long run. June would not have scored as much and would have gotten beaten worse.

The point is moot when you STILL could have won despitethat but made bad calls. It's pretty Damn black and white. Obviously I was the only one screaming to run the clock out instead of trusting a [deleted] poor defense to win it

They have good talent? No they don't.. they're a frickin' FCS team

Their QB was the most highly regarded player on the field coming out of high school. Other than the freshmen that we brought in this year, I would bet we weren't that different from the JMU squad from a talent standpoint. Don't forget we competed with the likes of JMU (SFA, etc.) for talent under June's last few years.

However, they are a FCS team and we managed the clock and game worse than they did. Need to learn from that in a big way.

Lol you people are delusional. Giving up 700 yards to an FCS team is coaching. June Jones recruits or not.

Saying June Jones recruits or not is silly. June Jones' lack of effort to recruit solid players will linger for a while. That 700 yards is one of the effects.

Recruiting? This wasn't TCU or Baylor!! This was JMU.

their recruits were all equal to or worse than all of out players. This was coaching and a lack of playmaking on defense. Period.

Sure June recruited [deleted] talent in the last 4 years, but my point is JMU is an FCS school and there shouldn't be such a huge gap in talent as was displayed. They almost doubled our yardage and destroyed us at the line of scrimmage. It's not solely a talent issue. The defense was horrid.. no pressure on the QB, whiffing on tackles, constant blown coverage in secondary. What the he11 is Malone doing? 2 wasteful timeouts on their last drive to set up their defensive formations?

Hey I said it on another thread as well. We have zero presence in the middle of the field and it's been that way all year long. The coaches could at least stick a body in the middle even if it's just to wave as the QB or RB go by. And every time we send an extra rusher we get torched. Maybe we should stop doing that.

You all are talking like JMU could beat Baylor or TCU..."talented" or not, we played so poorly that we let an FCS team gain as many yards as two Top 10 teams. Their "talent" does not excuse that.

someone pull out the rivals ratings of JMU's roster. Should be similar to JJ's recruiting over the past few years.

Our defense was out of position all game. Horrible coaching by SMU and great by JMU.
I can't count the number of wide open pass completions made by JMU.

You could tell that SMU was trying to protect Matt Davis the first few series. Then they got shredded on D and pulled out all the stops.
Sorry but we should beat a 1AA team. We have better talent.
