Re: Fans and Cheering
I liked sitting near the band to cheer and sing and dance but they moved.
Now I hide out somewhere else and I'm pretty quiet now without that cheer group.
I don't want to sit on the west side because I'm not that stuffy.
I mean that in a good way, so smile.

Most of 105 has been good. No one telling my group to sit or quiet down.

You were awful tonight. I got a lot of awful stares foryelling on 3rd down. In case anyone was there I was in row 6 next to a former lineman yelling the whole time.
Y'all [deleted] blow.

Hey if you makes you feel any better... I kept screaming, cheering, booing what have you. It is really sad though the mad looks came from our fans but I didn't care. Seriously majority of our fans rather have a nice quiet game.

Haha I've seen golf tournaments with more excitement.

SMU took a chance on me. I'll never turn my back on it.
Re: Fans and Cheering
I hate it when the players on the bench feel the need to motivate the crowd to cheer. However, at SMU games, something has to be done from time to time.

There is no way in hell there were 22,000 people in the stands tonite-but I will say that most season ticket holders were there. 22,000 really? LOL

As a former player, that is one thing I could not stand while being down on that field. At any other stadium, fans are on their feet cheering and going nuts. In Ford, if you do you get the police called on to you. People insist on sitting down and conversing about everything BUT the game. I get it if you are there with your kids and fans are cursing up a storm, that is disrespectful and rude. But simply cheering on your team and having the cops called on you is a bit ridiculous. I'm not attending this game because I have military engagements, but to hear from my gf (a former cheerleader) that that happened is confusing to me. Just trying to wrap my head around it. Don't mend to offend anyone or [deleted] anyone off but c'mon. If you want a nice quiet environment to watch the game...do it from the comforts of your home.

You're preaching to the choir. We all have this complaint
Right. Good to see you back. Most of us here have been told to sit down at some point or another. Even when you had your epic pick vs ecu

Well, we were even playing loud hype music on at least one of our own third downs. Kind of unbelievable.

Playing over the student chants and even the announcer
Re: Fans and Cheering
We have fun in sections 100 and 101. Lots of player's families, and they know what they are doing. I haven't been shooshed yet, and I'm pretty loud on third downs.
