We are experiencing the fruits of his "labor". That's all.
Agree again. June put Coach Morris in a bad situation. These players are doing the best they can they are just not all D1A players.

Meyer took over a team with so little talent it had no business playing in the SWC. But play they did and managed two conference wins.
Morris took over a team with a few solid players and several good players. He just doesn't have enough players in all positions. Nor does Morris have enough players to provide depth.
Look at Wood being out. It was a killer in that we lost our best D lineman, D line leadership and depth. We could have a respectable season if, and only if, we didn't have injuries. We saw last night what one injury could do to us. Let's hope we stay healthy for the rest of the season.
We actually have good receivers, good backs and a good QB with an O line that can get the job done. We don't have enough experience and we need to get bigger, faster, and stronger across the O.
I wish all these issues could be corrected by better coaching but it can't and never will be. Its corrected by better talent. And that isn't just recruiting. The players we have can get better but it will take a off season of hard work to get bigger faster and stronger and a full season to get experience.

Just out of curiosity, if at the beginning of the season we had known after 4 games we would have the same record as Arkansas and Texas, what would we have thought that record would be. Everyone needs to rebuild sometime.

I would have thought 2-2 also for us. 4-0 for Arkansas and probably 3-1 for Texas. Things just do not happen as fast as you want sometime in rebuilding.

Are you suggesting that it isn't in the DNA of some SMU fans to work hard, have patience, and not panic? GTFOH!!! Crazy talk.

The last guy was just as lauded a hire as Morris (probably more due to the shock of it) and he finished his first season 1-11.

By the way, I pretty well blame all problems, inside and outside football on Ponyte moving to New Orleans, although it was nice to see him and his lovely wife yesterday.

Atleast we have been in every game this year and we are actually scoring TDs. How many were we in last year? ONE.

Actually 2. Should have won USF. But your point is still valid. I repeat, we have already scored more points than all of last year.

Three, we were in the Tulsa game too (7 point game with 3 minutes to play).
