Our DE's did not get much if any pressure on the QB yesterday. Need to recruit more athletic faster DE's that are good size. Like I said that under ideal circumstance you would want to redshirt Gary next year but that might not be possible.

The only thing I can think of is to get Kevin Johnson a shot-I guess it was Clemmons that came off with an ankle injury. You can look up and down our roster-the answer ain't there.

Radio broadcast said they both got hurt last night.

As to Stallion's reference to the DB's; not only do they look slower than the competition they've also made a lot of glaring tackling mistakes. I hope they do better in conference play. Stallion has also pointed out that the defense is being recruited heavily in this coming class. That means that next year we will probably have a lot of freshmen starting on D.

I think the straight-line speed of some of our corners is *okay*, but they aren't athletic enough. The moment they have to turn their hits or cut on a break, they round everything off and slow down significantly. Its an athleticism thing as much as a speed thing.

I think 4, 6, and 9 can be okay. Richardson didn't play I don't think and 6 was having injury problems the whole game. When he was beat long for a TD it looked like he had some hamstring issues. We saw a lot of 10 and 18. In fact, Montes and Johnson started, so both of our starting corners sat for most of the game. They tried to play 6 at some point, he got beat and wasn't healthy. So then it was 10 (2nd string) and 18 (3rd string) for a big chunk of the game.

We knew the team wasn't deep, and when you take a starting tackle and both starting corners off the field, the defense is going to struggle.
