My opinion but I think it would take a really special person to NOT resign at 75 given the punishment handed down. It basically sets the program back three years minimum with the scholarships and visit reductions alone.

From an outsider's perspective I would not be surprised if he resigned. It's his MO.

Obviously I hope he doesn't resign, but it certainly wouldn't be shocking.

I predict we will go quietly in the night and will not appeal. RGT can't be associated with that sort of unsavory stuff. The sanctions were all about LB, the don't ruffle feathers acceptance will be all about RGT and his legacy.

Hope I'm wrong but...

We must appeal. No choice. This is far too punitive...a program killer.

It would be insane not to appeal, even if we were almost certain nothing would change.

More like because it's Larry Brown.

SMU will appeal because they know the $$$$ dries up if we roll over.
If we fight, then folks will stick around.

We have to fight this. To simply take this would demonstrate that Turner is not a good steward of SMU's reputation and resources no matter how much money he has raised. Like it or not, the athletic department is part of the university, and the most visible part of the university's reputation at the moment. Make no mistake, I am not happy that this sort of shenanigans occurred, but these penalties compared to a number of high profile programs who have committed far worse systemic violations over decade or longer, are unwarranted and unacceptable. Frankly, either the university should fight them, or if they are considered too bad to fight, then Turner should resign since these allegations occurred on his watch by his guy and he is ultimately responsible.
Support the Commitment! We're all SMU Mustangs fans- we should all be committed!

You have to fight if you care about P5 and the investment put into both programs
