What we really need is some of our big money people to decide to make dirupting/destroying the NCAA their personal project. The NCAA would not survive the public scrutiny that lawsuits would bring. Everyone already knows this but it needs to be presented consistantly and loudly for more than a 2 minute OTL report on espn every other year.

Are they making this his third strike type thing or using a harsh penalty on SMU to set up an quasi-death penalty on UNC or both?

My guess is they want Larry out. Do you think penalty would soften significantly if during appeal he announced his retirement? I know Larry is 75, is there somebody waiting in the wings?
