That's true, but I heard he was supposed to be coming to our WIN over UTEP. Don't know if he was there or not, but he was supposed to be.
Sorry should have put the caveat that those were the JC QBs showing interest according to Rivals.com.
Joe Danna 6'5'' 230 4.65 forty Interested: Maryland, South Carolina, Wyoming, Holy Cross, Western Mich. Rivals doesn't have him interested in us...but by no means is that the end all.
No but the quotes from the damn recruit are pretty damn close. Have you ever subscribed to Rivals? Look the damn prospect is quoted the vast majority of the time. As for Blinn and A&M, in fact the Aggies got a commitment from that top JUCO RB everybody was after James Johnson. I think that's the one TCU thought they had a shot at.
Actually TCU is after Ryan Torain. Johnson is a great RB (speed+) but I don't think he makes it to TAMU and TCU coaches were well aware of the fact that he was an almost automatic for Fran.
as for Danna the interest from recruits WAS from Rivals but there are no stories or lists of any offers. Said that he helped lead DeMatha high School to Maryland State Championship in 2003. I thought DeMatha played Basketball. 6-5, 230 4.65(unverified)
Actually stallion, I do subscribe to Rivals and read it all of the time. I also know that their PRIMARY focus is on the top 30-40 players in each state as there is no way they could really keep up with all of the players in that database.
DeMatha can play basketball and football it is a free country. They have been WCAC Champions in football for at least the last 3 years. Interesting little fact, Brian Westbrook went to DeMatha
Oh please they have probably over 500 Texas athletes alone profiled. There are guys like this Beal kid who didn't make any Texas Top 100 teams but probably have 8-10 stories on them. Clark Harrell isn't a Top 100 guy and they have 16 reports on him. They have reports on 95% of the players who are highly recruited-the players who aren't are sleepers.
Beal is a great prospect and really came on strong after switching positions. Don't know if he is Texas Top 100 if they revise again, but close. One kid Rivals completely missed on until after TCU & OU made offers to was Jason Teague, the RB/DB from Carthage. Went from a kid with no profile on Rivals to a 3 star and probably s/b a 4 star.
I might add that in the State of Maryland, the public school leagues are weak compared to the WCAC (the Catholic school league). He did not play for the Maryland state champions, but he played in a very tough league. The WCAC schools (while pretty strong academically) can and do recruit by raiding the public schools in Maryland and DC. If you are a kid in a tough neighborhood, would your mom want you to go to a good catholic school on scholarship or the local public school ducking bullets? I'm a bit surprised that a DeMatha grad ended up at a JUCO program because usually they have a strong enough educational background that they make minimum scores for NCAA qualifying. That's why their entire baskeball team (including subs) get offered full rides.
