Appeal looks less likelyModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Appeal looks less likelySometimes doing the right thing is what your customers do not want
. Or your employees. You do it because you know it is better for them in the long run
Re: Appeal looks less likelyi think you have to appeal. With Louisville about to hit the blocks, if you don't appeal you don't even have a chance to complain if they don't hammer Louisville. At least make them think twice.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyRegardless of how you come down on this, trust me...there is no appeal coming.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyHowever, will we do nothing is the question...
Re: Appeal looks less likelyNO appeal would be incredibly disappointing. Even the announcers today thought we should appeal and the ban would get overturned. They thought it was harsh.
If SMU does not appeal, everyone just assumes LB is a crook. And it will kill him in recruiting anyway, so you might as well appeal. Also, everyone else is going to appeal. How stupid is it going to look when the 6 people after us all appeal and get reduced sentences, while little ole SMU just took it on the chin. There are NO points for that. You only have one more year with Nic and MK (hopefully). You have to take advantage of that. To me the only reason we don't appeal is because those guys already decided to transfer.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyTalked to many people much more connected than me when it comes to this sort of [deleted] and it was near unanimous that SMU should appeal it. From a fan perspective, I'd rather push the ban to next year anyways given that the team won't be nearly as good since it will be reloading. That's my personal opinion but from an administrative/NCAA standpoint, most agreed that it should be appealed.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyIf you guy's don't appeal, why do you even play? You will appeal. The legal stuff is minor. Play the UNC card, now Louisville card. Don't ever give up, ever.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyWe don't appeal this crap, I'm out. Seriously. The last straw in my book.
Everyone appeals. Everyone. Penn st appealed. Cuse appealed. We have to fight for our BB future.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyI don't see, or understand, why we wouldn't appeal. I think letters stating what ponyinNC said need to be written and sent to the powers that be.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyYou should let the admin know very soon how you feel about this. And I mean very soon.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyI actually understand the case to not appeal, but I would be very disappointed if we don't. It all comes down to what the seniors do. If they bolt, you don't appeal and you take it one the chin. Don't run the risk of screwing up next year, too.
Pony up!
Re: Appeal looks less likelyUnless we get the the conference automatic bid, seems like if we are appealing the ban, the NCAA committee could still keep us out of the tourney if we were an "at large" team.

Re: Appeal looks less likelyIn my book it's pretty simple. We may not have a team this strong for years. If the seniors agree to stay we appeal with goal to stretch I'd out past march. We take our lumps down the road in recruiting and possibly in 2017 tourny (if even relevant).
If they are leaving, then let's take the penalty now. I'll take the for sure strong team over a maybe strong team.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyRealistically I would hope an appeal can reduce the sanctions to 9 games for LB, 6 scholarships, no post-season ban.
Re: Appeal looks less likelyWow. I never even considered the possibility of not appealing. This will be pretty shocking if true.
