We need to understand this is year 1. Malone was given crap d-2/d-3 players. Let's see what happens when he's actually given some HCCM recruits before calling in the axe. We aren't the whorens.
didn't have the talent for a 3-4 defense ( 3 years of worthless recruiting) THEN, SWITCH TO A 4-2-5 and expect the absolute worst defense in FBS to switch schemes with no additional personnel and then blame the coach? y'all are absolutely fracking [deleted].
our defense has 3 more interceptions this year than it did all last year.
you dumarses need to remember that your last savior went 1-11 in his first year too. then took us to 4 strait bowl games. chad is doing this with MUCH worse talent than June inherited. just STFU, stay at these games and cheer on the team. so tired of it.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
People keep saying he has nothing to work with, but the same could be said for Morris.. He had very little to work with and our offense has made great improvements. I don't think the main issue is the players, but the coach. I mean look at his credentials... His last coaching position was a cornerback coach for Tulsa...
I'm sorry but the "doesn't have the players for 'his' defense" excuse is lame. Your offense is putting +40 on Top 10 teams, enough points that you COULD win those games...figure out ANY defense that slows the clip of their scoring points...that's your job!
If your baseball team is putting up 7 runs but you are losing because of bad fielding and poor throws, that's on the coach. If your soccer team is scoring +3 goals every game, but you are still losing by two, that's on the coach. I get it, you might need 3-4 years before the product on the field reflects "your style"...but put out something that is serviceable and supports your surprisingly productive offense (ignoring the ECU game). He talks about "little victories" which is okay if both sides of the ball stink equally; he needs to be thinking "stop the bleeding, any way possible".
DE - Lawler - 2 star, not many offers DT - Gentry - 2 star, not many offers DT - Wood - 3 stars lower P5 and upper G5 offers DE - McCleneghan - walkon Will - Yenga - 3 star, lower P5 and upper G5 offers MLB - Horton - 2 stars, no offers Star - Shaq - 3 star, but only G5 offers CB - H Richardson - 3 star on one service, but no offers CB - Jesse Montgomery - 2 stars, no offers S - D Richardson - 3 stars on one service, 1 P5, 1 G5 offer S - J Wyatt - 3 stars on 2 services, 3 P5 offers
I know we like to rip on the offers and all of that, and we can all see the deficiencies out there. But FYI, this is about what we are going to see on every team in our conference. We had more 3 stars and better offers than the starters on ECU this week, especially on defense where they started like 4 walkons.
I know we are concerned about depth, but keep in mind that Wood going out is being replaced by a SC recruit. Horton going out is replaced by a more highly regarded player in Rhone. Injuries at corner mean that a Mizzou transfer gets to play.
Coming into the Fall and out of the Spring, the offense was awful and our defense was dominating. I don't expect a repeat of the UNT game by any means, but I don't think we are athletically as bad as we looked the last two games. For whatever reason the mobile QB aspect just kills us.
