Question about gameday parking at HPUMCMaybe it's always been like this, and this is the first time I've noticed it, but last Sat. as I walked by Highland Park UMC on the way to Ford, I noticed that about 5/6 of the parking lot was occupied by vehicles belonging to UTEP fans. Is the pastor there from El Paso? Or is HPUMC the designated away team parking lot? If neither is the case, why didn't they tow those violators? Again, if this has always been the case, please excuse my ignorance. And I'm not jealous...my usual parking space on Drexel is just fine, thankyou.
Re: Question about gameday parking at HPUMCWell, as a member of HPUMC, I can tell you that the Rev. Mark Craig is *not* from El Paso. In fact, he's a native of Ft. Worth but he's a big SMU fan. On game day, the HPUMC parking lot is considered 'off limits' to fans attending games at Ford. Some folks actually schedule weddings on gameday ![]() Good question on why the UTEP fans' vehicles weren't towed, though. Perhaps it was God's way of having mercy on them since the Mustangs would later 'beat the hell' out of the Miners. ![]()
Actually, HPUMC does NOT allow anyone to schedule weddings on gamedays. Those who want weddings during the fall at HPUMC have to wait for the schedule to be released to set their dates. There are 3 time slots during all non-football Saturdays in the fall.
I think the CSC parking crew we hire every week are untrained idiots, which is probably why when the UTEP cars were told they could not proceed on the Boulevard, they turned left and saw empty spots. CSC needs to prevent them from parking there as well.
