Rice and Tulane are both sinking

Postby Sam I Am » Fri Dec 02, 2005 12:47 am

The West could lose two teams. Rice and Tulalne have had recent program reviews. Tulane is broke, and Rice doesn't care. Both La TEch and UNT may be in our future.

wow!!1 without looking it up exactly, hasn't Rice had a winning season or two since SMU last has? They have a bad season, are getting a new coach and they should drop divisions, I think I saw that type of talk around this board just a couple of years ago.

If you don't think they can turn it around, then it is either wishful thinking, or being afraid that they might get good again.

What is the head to head record the last 5 years between SMU- Rice?

Saw this posted on Dallasnews.com just now. Personally, I don't think he'd leave anyways. I'm sure he wants to coach his kid for a couple of seasons and then maybe look at going to the college ranks.

Rice has not called, says Dodge

Southlake Carroll coach Todd Dodge said Friday he has not been contacted by anybody involved with the Rice coaching search.

The Houston Chronicle included Dodge on a list of 10 potential candidates to replace Ken Hatfield, who resigned earlier this week.

"After we get through with the job at hand here, if somebody from Rice contacted me, I'd be more than happy to talk to them. At this point, I'm trying to take care of the Carroll Dragons and loving every minute of it," Dodge said.

Dodge said he has previously been contacted about assistant coaching jobs at the college level but never a head coaching job. His son, Riley, is a sophomore who is in line to be Carroll's starting quarterback the next two seasons.
