Houston #24 in the AP Top 25Cougar King, break it down for us....
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25And note that on 10/11/15 the schools that most SMU fans would call our biggest rivals are:
AP Top 25 #2 Baylor #3 TCU #24 Houston SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25
Well that explains why their offenses were so stagnant Saturday. Shake It Off Moody
Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25Herman will be gone from UH in two months...I suspect both Maryland and USC will be interested, not to mention other P5 jobs that will inevitably be coming open. Maryland is a sleeping giant...tons of UnderArmour money and right in the middle of a solid recruiting area with DC/Va Beach/NJ/PA

Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25
At a minimum they will have to almost double his current salary. And that's if they are lucky.
Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25I don't think he will leave after one year

I doubt it as well, but with USC there is precedence.
Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25USC might be the best gig in all of college football...you get to live in LA, you can pretty much pick what recruits you want because everyone wants to go there, 90,000 seat stadium, tons of tradition, etc.

Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25Houston in AP poll and Memphis in coaches poll; Houston, Memphis & Temple all getting a lot of love in the polls. Let's see if Memphis can beat Ole Miss this year. That would be a huge win for the AAC

Are we in the top 10 bottom 10 yet? "I think Couchem is right."

Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25Is Maryland really a better job than UH?
I've always thought UH was potentially a sleeping national giant that has been held back because it lacked a decent stadium. Recruiting goldmine-public university with large student body. They should average 40,000 or so a game in this new stadium. They've had sporadic National Top 10-15 seasons during about 4 periods since the 70s but never been consistent. I think the stadium will have a unifying affect on the UH community-the stadium has been long overdue "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25Maryland puts you in a really difficult division in the Big 10
Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25
Don't see Maryland doing it. Edsall's buyout is $2.6mm. Herman's buyout this year is $2.25mm. New salary would probably need to be at least $2.5mm. I don't see them spending that much on a coach with 1 year head coaching experience at a G5 school.
Re: Houston #24 in the AP Top 25UnderArmour wants Maryland to be for them what Oregon was to Nike. and their AD said yesterday they want a coach who brings an exciting offense. I don't think they can land Chip Kelly, but I don't think money will be an issue.
