Yeah, I did not enjoy watching Plano play. It's so different from the days of the powerhouse years. I did not like much of the offensive and defensive strategies. Too many poor choices were made by the OC and DC in my opinion. It's amazing that with its enrollment numbers the team is not better.
(Everything is down including the band and cheerleading and drill team and rowdy support and wins, oh my !!!!). That stadium used to be very full!
I hung out with the old guys a bit. Someone in my family was on the '65 2A state championship team that was being celebrated. I'm glad the Wildcats today didn't hear what was said about them by the old guys. It was nothing too bad but that old group of Wildcats were winners and they just aren't used to the type of teams Plano has mostly had over the last about 20 years. And they were small town people and farm boys and girls back then and most live in small towns around Texas today. It was nice to be around them for 2 nights and hear about those days again with some of the old coaches too like John Clark and more.
One time I got so mad I yelled, "C'mon Jaydon .............!!!!".
I did not like how the players were used so much.
I'd like to get really specific but it wouldn't make it better.

Kadarius has been shown a mean streak-he can pull too-here's about 7 great blocks in a 34-31 loss to Marcus

Plano beats Lewisville to end season 4-6. Video shows about 6 blocks including several pulling blocks that give you a good idea of his mobility

To stallions point the other day, Plano runs a lot of the old fashioned straight ahead I formation. Lots of run blocking in Smith's DNA

KD will work his butt off to improve and learn. He's smart and will move mountains for Coach Dustin Fry. Can't wait to see him in red and blue.

He might be the 2016 recruit I'm most excited about. Sure, he's lower rated, but I think he's vastly under rated and fills a huge need we have (athletic, tough, nasty linemen). Need one like that at OT and 1 or 2 on DL.

As a former lineman, the thought of having Todora and Smith starting at guard, possibly even next year, gets me all warm and fuzzy inside. That's a lot of big mean man running over people.

I think eventually you'll see Barton take over at center, but he might need a year or two. As Stallion has pointed out, he dominates his league, but sometimes his pancakes are him just throwing some tiny kid 5 feet in the air. We'll see how he adjusts, but he's a cerebral guy who will make a fine center.

Put Webb/Wilds/Becker at the tackle spots, and we're good to go for a few years. BOOOO YAHHHHH

Kadarius Smith Senior Year Highlites which he calls "The Last Ride"

good highlites-he does have a mean streak-maybe we got some Offensive Line experts to analyze the video. I think he'll end up at Guard

He looks to be one of the biggest guys on the field. He looks strong (very strong), stays with his blocks. Not a lot of passing but he seems to be able to stay with those blocks also. He seems to have decent speed for his position. I don’t like some of his mechanics, but that will come with practice and play time. Again I would like to know more about the opponent abilities and his measured numbers. IMO He's the best and strongest offensive lineman in the video…by far.
Observations:
It looks on the first play like he is leaning – would give away his pull in college. However, he is well out in front of his back and makes a very good block. He will be playing a much quicker game next year. Assuming I am seeing with I think I am - Can he pull with the same speed without leaning? Probably with practice, etc.
He makes a really nice trap block on the next play. Shows strength and blocking technique.
Third play he is lined up weird, almost off of the line, but does not pull; blocks straight. That seems a bit weird to me. I don’t understand why he lines up like he does. I’d bet that is changed in college. Very strong block – drives opponent to the ground; shows good strength.
Fourth play blocks lb – good form, looks agile and strong. Drives LB to the ground.
Fifth – Strait block – drives opponent to the ground.
The rest of the play repeats these observations, which enforces my above opinion.
Strong with good speed and quickness for his size.

He plays in one of the Top Districts in the United States-doesn't get much tougher than this with Allen's 54 game winning streak and probably 20 collective State Championships among district teams although the Plano and Lewisville ISDs have been split into separate schools somewhat diluting talent

Allen
11 0 1.000 9-0 2-0 8-0 W11 +422

Flower Mound Marcus
10 1 0.909 6-0 4-1 7-1 W6 +167

Plano East
7 4 0.636 5-0 2-4 5-3 L2 +25

McKinney Boyd
5 5 0.500 2-3 3-2 4-4 L1 -38

Hebron
4 7 0.364 2-3 2-4 4-4 L1 -39

Lewisville
4 6 0.400 2-3 2-3 3-5 L3 -90

Plano
4 6 0.400 2-2 2-4 2-6 W1 -68

Plano West
3 7 0.300 1-4 2-3 2-6 W1 -85

Flower Mound
1 9 0.100 0-5 1-4 1-7 L6 -150

Stallion, I appreciate that point. It is just that the two players we have discussed tonight made their opponents look REALLY BAD! I hate to get that excited about this, but I had to ask...both Smith and McLaurin look very good to me.
