Reason 263.b that we didn't appeal they post season ban this year. Great way to start off next year. And if this team delivers like they can, we will be ranked by everyone entering the season.

Has nothing to do with not appealing. If certain players don't continue keeping their grades up we could get an APR post season ban anyway. But what do you mean delivers like they can? We only have two post players next year in Semi and B. Moore. Are you aware of a silent commit or 2 at the post?

I know, I know...we didn't appeal the postseason ban because we are incompetent and ignorant and scared and stupid and feckless. Turner and Hart are agents of a secret cabal that gains joy from the pain and anguish of SMU fans. The world is crashing down around us. We're all going to die. There is no plan.

If they have an APR ban next year at least we could have served both bans concurrently next year if we would have delayedbthe ban by appealling.

You may have a point. That would be just one true post player.

…and neither of them are post players. But if we are actively recruiting the northeast and specifically the NY metro area what better way to impress a potential recruit.

If the sky fell and we all died, they could concurrently serve the postseason ban and be dead.

Seriously, they went with what they have done. Now they need to ensure we don't have APR issues (I didn't say do anything to prevent APR issues...let's make every effort to do this legal, i.e. do the opposite thing the SEC and UT does and possibly look into enrolling them into online courses at UNC) so we don't have any problems next year. This is a good look for early in the season next year, but now it's back to getting it done this season and continuing to build another layer on the LB foundation to create a perennial basketball power program on the hilltop.

You have no sense of program, just instant gratification. I'd literally sacrifice Nic/Markus on the alter of the basketball Gods to be good for 5 years. They're just snipers for heavens sake. The reality is that you deal w/the APR by making sure kids don't fail. That doesn't mean taking their courses, that means if you attend, you pass. Make it the new hoops and admin standard. We will never have any stability until we vastly change how we treat kids attending the school for a hoops education. In terms of sanctions, there was no choice, if you care about anything other than this year

So true.

LB had to kickstart the program any way he could. It's kinda like "fake it until you make it."

Whats wrong with actually recruiting talented kids who'll go to school?…they're out there. My guess is that our three frosh have significantly higher grades and SAT scores than MK, Nic and Keith.

Do you have to take chance now and then to get a Mudiay type? Sure you do. But you have to establish that's it's the exception not the rule. You have to play the game by the established rules regardless of how unfairly they are enforced.

I'd love to see the range of SAT scores in any year's top 100 recruits. My guess is that there are many with pretty damn good SAT's.

So far the only kids that have confirmed academic issues in our program is Keith (who I think was messed up by Kimball as are most kids that go through there), MK (who is a history major, which is an extremely time consuming degree ), and Martin (who was a transfer sniper that was hurt and not getting minutes). I haven't heard of anything that BM, SB, BE, nic, or Semi having any issues whatsoever. Quite frankly many on the board seem to hold an assumption that if you are black and play basketball at any kind of high level you must be functionally illiterate.
