Why do you want to suppress students from protesting?

Because the NCAA should do something to about student athletes (meant student athletes) on a football team that protest like they did.

The Missouri people at least seem to have grievances of some kind and are just not addressing or expressing them in the best way. The Yale Halloween costume thing is much more distressing to me.

The Missouri people at least seem to have grievances of some kind and are just not addressing or expressing them in the best way. The Yale Halloween costume thing is much more distressing to me.

Before my point gets confused - the distressing aspect is not that Yale chose to warn students not to be offensive with their Halloween costumes. Halloween is a high tide for poor choices especially for 18 year olds.

What is distressing is the response from students toward the professor who questioned the level at which Yale was inserting themselves, noting a value in students standing up for themselves and others, questioning how to draw the line between offensive and not, etc. Though I didn't agree with all of it, it was very even keeled and bland. The student response was to call for her dismissal and go into hysterics, even claiming that they can't handle living at Yale anymore, and that it now feels to dangerous to be there because of the article. Just totally off the deep end from people at an elite private school, most of whom would probably consider Plano to be gangland slums compared to their upbringing.

The costume thing is not what I thought you were talking about. The thing that is getting the most attention at Yale is the party where an African American girl tried to go to and they told her it was a "White girls only party."
