He's a weight lifter who qualified 12th at the State Meet in the 275 pound weight class in 2004 with a combined lift of 1460 whatever that means. At Navarro was an Honrable Mention All Southwest Junior College Football Conference selection-(BTW they only pick a First Team-no Second Team-and other honorees are Honorable Mention.)

combined lift of 1460 means that they added up all the weight he lifted (ex is bench, squat, deadlift, clean...then the add up all the lifts combined) means absolulty nothing...just a way for some weight lifting meets or high schools to create a point scale for there lifting programs
stay low boys...keep those feet moving....be perfect.........

It will be interesting to see if he comes in as a Center or Tackle (where he played in HS). RT struggled a bit this year, and we lack depth at either tackle (Assuming Urbanus is a guard permenantly now). On the other hand, we also struggled with assignments at C. We have a lot of young players at C, but I would suspect that that is where he plugs in. We need some size and improved assignment calling in the middle of the line. And having two Centers with experience calling out blocking assignments is a big deal.

Welcome aboard, Joe!

I love the idea of JUCO linemen. Here's hoping he's as mean and nasty as he is big and strong.
