Okay. Hopefully they can come up with something else creative. The Duke students would.

Someone in the Mob tried to organize "Free Larry" shirts, but the NCAA didn't like it. I got a call from the t-shirt company that the NCAA doesn't want us to have shirts with their name on it, so the t-shirt company couldn't ship them out.
If we want these t-shirts, we would have to redo the backs ASAP!
Sorry that they couldn't be here for the first game. This is just further proof that the NCAA sucks!
What would they do? Sue the students? Bring on the shirts. The big schools would. We have already been punished. What more could they do? Seriously, I don't see how the school could get punished over this. Don't puss out now.

Apparently they objected to using "NCAA" on the shirts. Just omit that part and print them

They would sue the printing company most likely.

I believe free speech rights would not allow them to squelch this. I bet there is a printer who would be happy to print that shirt.

They can not squelch anything except the use of their trademarks which is what it looks like they objected to (note it says they objected to their name being used, not the Free Larry message)

And he would be sued for trademark infringement like Cal is saying

Tshirt company can't print anything that requires a license. They likely have to call the NCAA to approve it. Legal action would go to Tshirt company if they printed without approval, I believe.

Yup. If you make the shirts yourself and give them away you may be ok under 1st amendment but if a company sells them they are infringing on the licensing and trademark rights without permission.
