Miles at LSU

Postby RGV Pony » Tue Nov 17, 2015 10:02 pm

Maybe they have their eyes on Herman

LSU: Scott Rabalais of The Advocate writes that there are "strong indications" Les Miles could be coaching for his job against Ole Miss and Texas A&M in the next two weeks, with Rabalais adding, “25 years of covering LSU, cultivating a variety of knowledgeable sources, have led this writer to believe that there is a serious threat to Miles’ tenure here." LSU was ranked No. 2 10 days ago.

That is crazy...the SEC is not messing around. That would be a HUGE job opening. Big time fanbase, great in-state talent, and you're right next door to Texas. Also, Les Miles would have no problem finding another job

Possibly the stupidest coaching related move ever if they fire him. Stupider than firing Pellini. Miles is easily a top 10 active coach, maybe top 5.

Seems ludicrous. Just about any current opening would be thrilled to have Miles and hard to imagine LSU finding someone that is a clear upgrade.

Jimbo Fisher? He coached at LSU from 2000-2006. LSU boosters would be paying a LOT to buyout Miles and his staff ($18M) plus Jimbo's buyout at FSU ($5M), though.

Why would he leave? He's the coaching king of Florida and already has a national championship. If money is the issue, I'm sure he could squeeze a more dollars out of FSU.

Stranger things have happened. LSU faithful might be tiring of getting beat by "Ole" Saint Nick ... and the last one was a beat down. Not to mention 3 of the last 6 NCAA titles ended up in Tuscaloosa. Then you see what Freeze has done at Miss, and McQ at FL. Like I said, stranger things have happened. Texas beating OU got Charlie another year in Austin IMO. He loses that game ... in a big way, he is gone. Of course MO, can not prove it. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATLEY. If LSU loses another game (esp A&M and against their previous DC),and/or struggles late in the season ... it would not shock me either way.

Seems like he is always 1 legit QB from winning a title

Always. Herman would be a great hire. LSU with a Top 10 offense, get out of the way.

Jimbo at FSU has a much easier path to the Playoff than LSU. Would take a crazy offer to make that happen. LSU fans better be careful what they wish for...how great was LSU before Les???

With our luck, Cougar High will figure out a way to hire him to replace Herman.
