Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadHe's basically summarizing mexmustang's ramblings.
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadHCCM should forfeit and share MSU the risk of injury. This is a pathetic effort. Absolutely embarrassing.
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadHopefully next year will be a seven game turnaround likr JJ's second year. Did Bennett leave a lot of talent?
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadFeel most with such complaints will point to brick and mortar projects. Seems the easier tasks like improved academic support and tutors have been addressed. Adding majors has already happened and that took a huge investment in both capital and time...determining how to support without detracting from the schools overall standing. Facilities take large initial investments and land, two things we are not endowed with absent donor support. Add long as HCCM is happy, I'm happy. If he's just content, then I'm worried.

Re: Official: SMU at Memphis Thread
You really didn't say anything comprehensible-sound like a Soccer fan trying to make sense of something you don't understand[/quote] , Let me spell it out for you. You Stallion, more than most, complained about the lack of quality recruits coming in the JJ era, particularly 2011 forward. Are we to accept that it is OK that the AD did not notice this? And, as the AD knew more than most, JJ wanted out in 2011. It had not gone the way he thought it would. Is it OK that the AD did nothing to ensure that this desire to leave would not adversely impact the program? On another level, JJ had made a habit out of bringing in coaches that did not appear to be great fits for what was needed or to perform well when they arrived. But the AD continued to authorize the hires and appear to have taken zero steps to alter the JJ approach to recruiting. This approach, it must be remembered, was exactly the approach to recruiting that JJ talked about when he arrived. The AD sat back and watched this approach fail to work. It was clear in 2013 that GG was papering over a LOT of cracks but instead of moving to remove JJ, the AD convinced JJ to stay. Our AD has shown itself to be utterly unable to manage situations for the betterment of the program. There were serious problems amongst the coaching staff, most notably Reinbold and Klemm, and again the AD appears to have done nothing. There has NEVER been a statement out of the AD to suggest that standards were not high enough. There is no leadership. The only spine in the athletic department is on the COC checkbook. Mustangs Abu!
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadSMU ball.
Sorry-ass effort at pursuit and tackling.
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadGood lord #15 is terrible. Compete lack of effort. Mental failure.

Re: Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadAfter 20+ years of this, I don't expect much anymore. I'm not angry... I'm tired. I don't know what to even think anymore. I respect the job that Coach Morris is doing and I know he is staring at a very uphill battle. BUT, But, but... With each humiliation, on the field and with the NCAA, I seriously contemplate whether SMU will ever get off the doormat. At what point is it OK to say enough is enough. At what point is it OK to run away and buy a [insert college name here] baseball cap, leaving this pain & misery behind.
If anyone has the heart for it, please try talking me off the ledge/bourbon barrel. Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis Threadits very unlikely we go to a Bowl Game next year-a massive turnover is about to happen on Defense

"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadNow Sutton can't catch.
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis ThreadSutton barely tried on that one then feigned injury to cover his lack of effort.
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis Thread
We aren't in an easy CUSA anymore. It will proably take a couple of years like USF did. Who do you guys hire after Herman leaves? #HammerDown
Re: Official: SMU at Memphis Thread
Perhaps similar to how our players apparently can't get excited to play football unless the have +25,000 strangers clapping for them specifically. Or Conferences don't hand out invites until they tabulate the percentage of students who attend games. It's a voodoo to explain a world we are not a part of and don't understand.
