Don't spend the marketing $$$ for 2016

Postby skyscraper » Sat Nov 28, 2015 4:29 pm

If the games are going to be this brutal I'd rather only the diehards see it.
This was the roughest year I've ever had as far as getting another person to use my 2nd ticket. Loyal Mustangs who came with me for years started saying no to Boulevards and game days. I can't imagine it getting any better next year.
I know Chad has this headed in the right direction, I just hope we haven't run everyone off before it happens.

It'll be diehards-only at Ford next season regardless of marketing expenditure.

People on here keep thinking marketing $$$ will fix attendance.
1. We don't have any
2. If we did, don't spend it next year

marketing can of course be helpful - but you cant do it as a single event or season and expect it to work. It has to be multi year and it might as well start now. You cant do nothing in this market of multiple options and expect that to work....

Sure we do. We spent it all on ugly alternate helmets.

last year was by far the more brutal (every week was like today) and we went 0-6 at Ford compared to getting 2 wins this year. As for running anyone else off...only the die hards have stuck with the program these past couple years (or since the death penalty, for that matter) so I don't think we have to worry about losing more fans. The band wagoners will come out once this team starts winning. I'm just looking for year over year improvement and so far, so good as far as I'm concerned.

Every year kills the enthusiasm of another freshman class. That matters.

The school has lost pretty much every graduating class since 1985
