OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADLooking forward to seeing how Semi will change this team.
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADNic Moore took over the game in the 2nd half.
I don't know what we will do without him next year. He is incredible! Pony 81
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADThat was all Nic. He's just a special player. Overall we played terrible but it's a win on the road against our rival. Take it and move on....

Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADReally interesting to watch our team struggle so much with figuring out how to play defense with the new rules. We were brutally physical the past two seasons and our players are absolutely freaking out about the change.
I think we will struggle on defense until Semi gets in and gets more depth and we don't have to worry about fouls as much. I also suspect they will lighten up on the calls in conference play.
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADThe freshmen finally played lke freshmen.
Keith played like a freshman. Sterling with yet another solid effort. Markus starting to come around And little Nic put the whole crew on his shoulders and brought it home. It's a W. Last edited by sadderbudweiser on Wed Dec 02, 2015 10:20 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREAD
Thought this several times tonight. That exact quote. However, somehow we are getting it done in the last 5 mins. That has to count for something. I think there were 20 shots tonight that LB would havr yanked a player for and had them on the bench for a second to think about that choice
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREAD
Nice Win, great to see Nic finally bust out for the first time this season...I would disagree that we played terrible, TCU has some studs and they were out to prove a point, but we weathered it ... Very proud of our guys. Lets keep it going. Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADGood teams find a way to win when they don't play well against inferior competition. We did that. End of story.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADEscaped that one!
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREAD
QUOTE of The NITE: ...and its a beautiful day in Mr. Moore's Neighborhood when you get a win against a hated rival and Big 12 team on the Road. Great teams win tight games in crunch time on the Road just like TCU's Football team tossed SMU's upset bid in Football aside down the stretch. Winning on the Road by 1 point is all that matters in these type of situations I agree its a wakeup call but mostly that while we have a (depleted) roster of great talent returning next year we may not be able to replace Nic. ENJOY the victory and undefeated record. ![]() "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADUnfortunately had to miss watching this one. Just got home and saw the score. At least not watching kept my stress level down. Glad to see another win!
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADWe hit a higher percentage of 3 pointers (7of 16 vs 9of 27) and fewer TOs but our FT shooting was awful (12of 21). But we won.
Long live Inez Perez!
Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADLast time I look the big difference was blocked shots which usually is like a Turnover. 9-4 in TCU's favor and Free Throws. We had a big advantage on the boards of about 10

Re: OFFICIAL GAME 5: SMU vs. TCU THREADIn a strange way, this one was good for our young guys and Keith. I think our frosh have
been a little pumped up into thinking they were already stars and they could shoot from 30 ft or from wherever. Also, Keith has been reading his press coverage and thinking about how he is our McDonald's All American. He was terrible. Hopefully this is a wake up call for all of them. They almost lost the game for us tonight aided by a dismal performance by Ben Moore. He was terrible three games ago, didn't play for an unknown reason of his own choice, and tonight he was mostly out to lunch. Thank God for Nic who took over the game and rode it home for us. Markus was just pretty good, and Sterling was all-around good. Glad we won and hopefully the guys learned something from the close win.
