he's much better than I anticipated especially considering he's learning a new position
what I like best about this class is that underrated guys like Duke, Jordan Ward, Mikial Onu and Harrison Barton are way better than I thought when they committed
Corey Rau was recruited pretty hard but he should have been recruited even harder by any team using the hybrid TE/UB-he plays next year

Goose Creek doesn't have much of a passing game as I've mentioned-they only completed 6 passes this week but 3 of them went to Myles Duke for 120 yards in receptions including a 79 yard TD catch. Goose Creek lost 27-24 to Vidor

2 new videos for Myles Duke: No. 1 v. Lumberton Shows him making 2 tackles in a position similar to our star position where he was originally recruited to play. Also turns a simple screen into a 49 yard catch/run while evading about 7 defenders http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/myles-d ... 905f2cbeebNo. 2-Nederland Shows a 42 yard kick return http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/myles-d ... 6606fad52e

Myles Duke scored a TD on a simple screen pass he busted for 70 yards in season final against Beaumont Ozen. Goose Creek Memorial ended season 4-6. If you notice Duke makes lots of big plays-but they don't get him the ball enough in their offense http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/myles-d ... 4413d3b4e6

Myles Duke Senior Highlites Here's another overlooked kid with outstanding size, speed, athletic ability, high SPARQ rating and a recognized scholar athlete that has been completely overlooked. Comes from a new out of the beaten path High School in the Gulf Coast region (Goose Creek Memorial which I had never previously heard of). Moved from QB to WR this year and made a bunch of big plays on a team that didn't have a strong passing QB. Put this kid at Allen or Westlake or SL Carroll and he is a superstar recruit and would have put up big numbers. SMU may move him to the Star position-I noticed only about 3 defensive highlites but one was a great Interception. He should have more offers too. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2833870/hig ... 3236391/v2

Really nice athleticism, but the 4.6 40 is the reason for the lack of offers. His top end speed is obviously there as you can see on that tackle he makes on the interception return. He's only 6'1 but on those videos looks 6'4, so I kind of wonder about the competition a little bit. Really nice athleticism though... 6'1, 200 with a little slower 40 might mark him for Star like you are saying.

Both of Alabama's safties are 6 feet tall so he is fine.

that 4.6 was run on March 4, 2015 (offseason) and Jason has no idea what kind of conditions it was run in. Actually it was a decent time based on other higher recruited players times. He finished in the Top 225 of all of the thousands of athletes tested across the Country in the SPARQ National Leaderboard. Plus he plays in a 5A District with Beaumont/Galveston kids which have plenty of top athletes Courtland Sutton ran a 4.75 during his Houston SPARQ performance. Those 40 times are next to worthless if they are run in the offseason or under poor conditions. They also test in early March in Texas which is a decided disadvantage. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/footb ... and-suttonTCU's 4 Star Courtney Lark ran a 4.71 at same event as Duke http://espn.go.com/college-sports/footb ... and-suttonUT's 4 star Reggie Hemphill ran a 4.63 http://espn.go.com/college-sports/footb ... hill-mappsBaylor's 4 Star Jared Atkinson one of the Top Sprinters in the Country only ran a 4.54-so NO Jason his time at that event didn't have a thing to do with it

Just trying to answer the "why" question on other offers, not saying he is a bad player.
You have to admit that it is surprising at 5A how at 6'1 he is much bigger than any of the other players on the field.
Nice to see ESPN finally updated their rankings. More depth than we usually have. Usually with them anything mid 70s and up is a P5 level player, 73-70 is a player they think will do really well at the G5 level and has the potential to develop into a P5 level player. Players in the 60s are projected to be solid G5 players.
