Yes let's take a look at all these morons who threw their life away with a throw-away degree like history. You want to show me a Major with a better list?

Am I the only one that believes Chelsea Clinton seems a little overwhelmed in that list?

Also, History majors should be good for APR since there is less chance of them having to repeat.

The list looks balanced but go take another look. It is culturally recent.... bias left.

you want to take another look at the 5 or so Presidents including W. , Kissinger, Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, O'Reily, Gingrich, Carly Friorina, Richard Fisher, even Ayn Rand et al. BTW they only included recent SCOTUS justices-I'd bet there are more History majors on SCOTUS than any other major throughout history

You could make a list of famous, successful people from any major. A history major doesn't prepare you to be productive in the 21st century economy; you're going to need substantial on-the-job training to do pretty much anything besides teach history or be a curator in a museum. Don't get me wrong, I love history and took some cool history classes at SMU, but if someone is going to get a college education in 2015 I'd tell them to focus on either a STEM major, Business or Econ and get a history minor (or double major if they're some try-hard).

Yeah, and they all needed to earn a three year graduate degree to get to where they are now. You can major in pretty much anything and go to law school; all law schools care about is your undergrad GPA for US News rankings purposes

yeah that's what intelligent successful people do in life. Is it a waste of time to go to graduate school now? Anybody with writing skills and analytical skills has a big advantage in Law School.

No, my point is that a history degree, standing alone, doesnt do much for you in the job market today. Go on a career website and tell me how many well-paying jobs (heck, for that matter, any jobs period) have a history major as a preferred or required qualification.

Picking her may be a bit hopeful, but why does a random Congressman from IL make the list?

Consulting firms look for people with history (liberal arts) background. They value the ability to research, write and think. Teaching the basics of business is easier than mastering those skils.
