Gilbert left Austin under the impression he had a three-year deal from Texas in the range 650,000 to 750,000 per year for three years, according to sources close to the situation. However, Strong had only offered Gilbert a two-year contract and the miscommunication changed negotiations completely.

No. Strong would be an idiot to let Applewhite inside the tent.

Dan Enos has been a good one at Arkansas. He has had some offers but I think Arkie has a pretty good hold on him.

Sources have told me Texas is trying to rally and sign Tulsa's Sterlin Gilbert. President Greg Fenves is flying out to Tulsa tonight

Nearly every outlet in Austin reported last night it was offered & accepted. We reported the facts. Wasn’t even offered. Incredible.

It's actually better than that. Per OB they now think they have Sterlin but UT Pres is going there to sell OL coach!

I’ve spoken w countless coaches over past 24 hrs. Every one of them think Tulsa guys will accept if offered. …. What happens if they don’t?

Word from Tulsa. I'm told that Sterlin Gilbert is now coming for $900,000 annually. Fellow Tulsa assistant Matt Mattox coming for $550k.

they were actually Co-Offensive Coordinators-Tulsa could take a hit-2 young coaches

both were with Briles at UH and then at Bowling Green with Briles protégé Dino Babers before Tulsa
