East Carolina Drops Men's soccerConference USA lost a soccer member when East Carolina announced it was dropping its men's soccer program. One factor was the cost to make the team competitive. EC lost to the Ponies 7-0 the past season. I assume Conf. USA will add a guest program to take EC's place in the soccer conference.
Vanderbilt and St. Louis both come to mind. Technically, we don't need to add anyone because all we need for NCAA conference eligibility is 8. With SMU, Tulsa, UAB, Memphis, UCF, Marshall, Florida International, USC and Kentucky we meet the minimum criteria.
St. Louis would be great. If we add anyone, it needs to be a power. I would love to see CUSA compete with the ACC as the top soccer conference. I believe the ACC had 5 teams in the NCAA tourney.
I submitted the same message several times because it kept timing out. I finally exited Ponyfans without a message ever being posted. I do not know what is happening. ![]()
