A&M baseball players weighing in that incoming freshman have to show it on the field, before making demands. Friend of the Aggie program suggests that Kyler wanted to begin informal workouts with Baseball, and Sumlin wanted Kyler to focus on football, through the bowl game and spring. Apparently there was a mtg on Tuesday evening with Murray(s), and then yesterday as well when the story broke. The gist of the Wednesday mtg was the threat to transfer, according to the friend. Kyler was told he had the day off of practice, and will be here today for practice. There is an over/under bet as to whether he shows today for practice.

Just thinking out loud here...how would you like your starting QB to up and not show for practice, because you are upset with the OC/HC/baseball coach et al? Third 5 star QB to walk in the last 2 years. The train-wreck that is Aggie football continues to develop and roll...

If he leaves over winter break he loses a year of eligibility. So wherever he goes he has to sit a year, then he only has 2 to play.

He would have been a borderline 1st round pick in the MLB draft this past year. He has better pro potential playing baseball. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

(I think he is too small to be a great college QB and we should NOT try to sign him) But, he could sign with SMU and turn pro for Baseball.

Unless Matt Davis gets replaced next year by Hicks or Colbert, he could compete with Colbert, Hicks and Moore for the 2017 starting spot.

National Letter of Intent stipulates you complete one academic year before transferring to another NLI school. Since he is a true FR, he has not completed the year requirement. Unless A&M agrees to release his NLI he's supposed to lose a year.

Oregon seems to be the perfect system and the depth chart lines up nicely for him. They have another graduate transfer coming in next year who wil start.
