Charlie, who has a scholarship offer from SMU, is expected to become the sixth straight Lake Travis quarterback to play for an NCAA Division I program. One of his best friends is Mayfield, the Oklahoma quarterback who finished fourth in balloting for the Heisman Trophy. They text each other and talk on the phone occasionally.

I wonder what his brother Michael's plan is after graduating from Virginia Tech-I was once told by someone very close to the family not to be surprised if he took a graduate assistant job with Chad Morris

BTW Charlie=Baker Mayfield

SMU might have some slotted higher than Brewer-but the kid is an outstanding QB hitting about 70%. Lake Travis plays Katy tonite at 8:00.. tough assignment as Katy has surrendered only about 4 ppg and has 10 shutout. I bet a bunch of College Scouts will be watching Brewer closely tonite. If he slices and dices Katy it will be impressive.

I wonder if 94 was one of the neighborhood kids who gave him some lumps?

Rough night for Brewer. The Katy front 7 dominated-and I mean DOMINATED LT's o-line. LT couldn't run the ball to save their lives and I can probably count on one hand the number of times Brewer dropped back and had adequate pass protection. Katy has one of the best HS defenses I have seen in a very long time.

Katy was one of the greatest defenses in High School football History surrendering less than 4 points per game. Although he did have a fumble returned for a TD Brewer was a respectable 17 of 28 for 172 yards 1 TD. Lake Travis had no running game-at all-and finished with 23 yards rushing. Katy was crowned National Champion today
