Collins Named To Conference Weekly Honor Roll
Sophomore earns second weekly honor of the season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (SMU/AAC) – Stephanie Collins was named to the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll after leading the SMU women’s basketball team to a pair of wins at the Puerto Rico Classic and an appearance in the tournament title game. Collins recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds against Arizona.
The sophomore forward averaged 12.0 points and 10.5 rebounds in the two wins, a 58-46 victory over Arizona and a 69-61 win against Gardner-Webb to take a 2-0 record into the matchup with No. 9 Mississippi State Monday afternoon. Collins is averaging 10.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game this season, ranking 24th and 16th in the conference, respectively.
Collins, a native of Melbourne, Australia, shot 52.2 percent in the two games, going 12-for-23 from the field, to take her team-high field goal percentage to 51.1 percent for the season, ninth in the league. She also had four blocks, four assists and two steals in the two wins. This is the second time in the last three weeks Collins has been named to the weekly honor roll.
