I would live in Lubbock or Waco before Memphis

By virtue of being in Texas both Lubbock and Waco are superior to Memphis.

I'd take Memphis over Atlanta, Oakland, St. Louis, Baltimore, and Cleveland. There are worse big cities in the country. But not many.

I think I'd take Atlanta and definitely STL over Memphis. But Memphis is better than the rest on the list for sure.

Memphis is OK. Not great, but OK.

Doesn't hold a candle to Atlanta, Baltimore or yes, Cleveland.
Never been to Oakland or St. Louis.
Miles better than Lubbock, and especially better than Waco. Those two are geographic armpits.

Memphis was great. I lived there 2 different times. But when I left the 2nd time it began to deteriorate. That was 58 years ago.

Nothing is worse than Cleveland.

Memphis is fine for a visit. Eat some BBQ, listen to some blues and try not to get robbed. Then get home.

New Orleans sucks to live there. Great place to visit though.
