Re: Another attendance thread36,742 is the stadium record during SMU Army at the 2010 Armed Forces Bowl.
May the forth be with us.
Re: Another attendance threadrather than simple head counts, the more "telling" stat would be what percentage of available seats are sold each week by various programs. I'm pretty sure there are programs that sellout most, if not all their games and have done so for years. Even with only 32k capacity, SMU would have a tough time reaching a point where we sold out no matter who the opponent. Not sure how many programs can actually do that (sell out games vs random opponents). I know that in my neck of the woods, Clemson and S. Carolina regularly pack their 80k stadiums for conference games, but there are always plenty of seats available when they bring FCS opponents in. Even so, they are usually at 90-95% capacity no matter who they play and what the weather conditions.
Re: Another attendance threadWe will never sell out regardless of opponent. TCU doesn't. When Iowa State or West Virginia is in town AC is a ghost town. And those are B12 games.

Re: Another attendance threadWhat are you talking about?
TCU has been selling out their stadium with season tickets in recent years-the only variation on a capacity sellout has been whether the visiting team allotment and student allotment is sold and yes perhaps sometimes when a school returns a lot then they may not but generally have reached capacity 45,000 for most games. They usually exceed capacity with Standing Room Only tickets-against SMU they exceeded capacity by about 3,000 with SRO. TCU actually averaged above capacity this year due to SRO. TCU is required by conference rule to hold back 5,000 tickets for the visitor allotment-those are the only seats which are sometimes left unsold https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_TCU_ ... tball_team "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Another attendance thread
I go to probably 3-4 TCU games a year, and I assure you they don't come close to selling out most of the games. Maybe "ticket sales" say sellout, but we are talking large amounts of open seats. Their stadium is 10k seats too big.
Re: Another attendance threadI don't know why SMU fans have to live a fairy-tale.
Those tickets are sold-TCU attendance was 46,767 in a stadium that has a capacity of 45,000. In 2014 it was 44,719 (a few hundred under capacity). SMU is the one ridiculously inflating attendance with tickets distributed Last edited by Stallion on Sun Dec 27, 2015 6:08 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Another attendance threadI will say that TCU has probably one of the highest student yield percentages at football games ... (Students at game / Total Students at school) ... TCU really does a good job doing whatever they do with that. Best seats in the house? No real greek tailgating? I dunno.
