Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon Rothstein
That's cool. Have they been to Moody yet? SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon Rothstein
Most had not. Cousins and family friends mainly.
Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon RothsteinShake will be great but he hasn't really proved he will be a great PG yet like Nic Moore. He's playing best off the ball. Its gonna be fun to watch and see if he can be an elite PG though. Just think he needs to earn the accolades at PG

Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon RothsteinOne thing about it though is that Shake is proving to be one elite SG. That is why I hope we have another Nic more like guard to compliment him next year.

Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon RothsteinESPN Seth Greenburg could not say enough about how much he likes SMU. He is a big fan of LB and Jank. He was also throwing a lot of love towards Nic.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon Rothstein
When did Nic prove to you he was an elite PG? What year?
Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon Rothsteinlast year-I understand progression and development as much as anyone on this board but in several recent games offense has stalled with Shake running the point. Just think before we call him a great PG that he proves it

Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon RothsteinShake is a great shooter at this point but not a great point guard. I watched him
very closely today and saw that he was a little careless with the ball and he threw some very bad lazy passes. He also hasn't developed into a great defender at this point. I know that Larry will cause him to progress so I feel good about the future. As someone pointed out, because of his length and his very long arms he just has to commit himself to defense more to be an exceptional defender. I know he can play the point but I think I would prefer him at SG.
Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon RothsteinShake is a the quintessential combo guard. He could probably play the 1, but I agree...he's not there yet. My preference would be to keep him off the ball, maybe use him as a secondary ball handler, but I'd rather have a true point guard to go along with him. It would definitely help his NBA prospects to learn and play the 1, but I agree with those above who said he's not there yet. That said, he certainly can become a very good college point guard. There's no doubt he has a much higher ceiling than Nic and that he has NBA potential. Can't wait to see what the next few years brings for him at SMU. I'll try to just enjoy him, wherever he plays. Remember that we have Tom Wilson and McDowell coming in. One of those guys could easily be the PG of the future, leaving Shake to play the 2.

Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon RothsteinIt appears as if Shake is a starter now. This comes as a result of Keith being dinged up a bit. Perhaps Shake started tonight because the game was in Tulsa? If so, that's pretty darn lucky for us.
I wonder where we go from here? Keith off the bench? Party at The Wopper!
Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon RothsteinI get sad when I think that it's Nic's last year at SMU. Then I watch Shake and I think it'll be OK.
Re: Some SMU Love today from Jon Rothstein@Jon Rothstein The best player on SMU that no one's talking about? Junior forward Ben Moore. Has quietly made a jump. 11 & 10 in Tuesday's win at Tulsa.
