this is a massive game on ESPN - it'd be absurd if the MOB isn't packed and rowdy

The three ESPN televised games in that time slot are:
Cinci @ 15 SMU
Michigan @ 20 Purdue
16 Louisville @ NC St.

They put ours on the main network over a B1G game and an ACC game, both featuring a ranked team, and NC St. having the worst record of the lot at 10-4. Let that sink in.

Current SMU game notes (still for the USF game) say Mike Patrick and Len Elmore.

I don't know how they determine student seating location but they put them in various places like up on the west side behind the band etc. My son and a friend he was with for the USF game are not in the MOB but they had student tickets/IDs and tried to go down to the MOB section but the ushers turned them away and said no dice.

Hoop - He shouldn't be watching - you need to tell him to suit up and be ready. We need some hard fouls and angry rebounds!

he might be a bit bulky in the upper body for basketball right now but I am sure he would be more than willing to get out there and play defense and hit the boards and some Bearkats if they asked him to, haha. heck, he would be willing to just practice with them at Crum to maybe try to knock some sense into Keith.

It's too bad they can't figure out how to get the MOB section full during student breaks... It's not like this happens every year or anything!

I kind of wish they would treat the games during breaks differently from the rest. Like have a different ticket distribution policy for 11/15-12/15 and 1/15-3/15 than you do for 12/15-1/15. I'm sure it would be an extra management headache, but it sure would be nice to fill those sections!

Of course, we could just dream of a culture and setup where MOB students not from DFW could (and actually did) easily transfer their tickets to non-MOB friends from DFW during breaks.

its easy - you suspend the MOB rules for this one game. Student ID gets you a ticket - starting with MOB seats.

Costume gets you in free with SMU student ID.

If they complain who cares.

This is dumb.

I know HoopmanX doesn't like me mentioning Duke, for the winter break games while students are away, they always opened up the student section, or at least part of it, to the community first come first served. It would be a simple matter to tell MOB members to get there by X time (10 minutes before tip or before National Anthem) for certain holiday break games, or their tickets would be resold (for $20 a pop, say) to the community, who can fill in.

Hoop Fan,
That's ridiculous. Rick Hart should be made aware of that.

And I like Diamond M's idea about what they do at Duke. Makes perfect sense.
