Great story hoopmanx, and your daughters 'because were the best, need to remind them" line is greatness!
Making memories.

I live about 5 hrs from Orlando. My kids are SMU hoops zealots, little girls 6 & 8. The AAC tourney accompanied by multiple theme park days has been on the books forever. Then, the sanctions. Told my girls SMU wouldn't be playing and they sobbed, didn't even want Disney.
Last night, about an hr after their bedtime, my eldest daughter opens her bedroom door and asks the score. I told her SMU was down too much w/too little time. That these are tremendous kids who gave everything they had, but they are tired. She asked if she could watch the last 4 minutes of the undefeated season and get her sister. I'm a sap for making memories w/my kids, cause at the end of the day, being a Dad is all that really matters to me. Sure, I say and they both come down and sit next to me on the couch. We sat there for 2 seconds before all 3 of us were standing and yelling.
After the game, I take them back to bed to tuck in, and my youngest says "We should go to Orlando, go to that tournament, and wear our SMU clothes.' I ask her why and she says 'b/c we're the best, need to remind them.'
Moody Magic indeed. Thanks for the memories, good people

It was funny how anyone and everyone felt like hugging, slapping five, and brah-bumping last night. Special moments like that are rare.
Good stuff, hoopmanx. Lots of dads on the board could not have said it better.

Those last 4 minutes or so were just the most incredible thing I've witnessed in Moody. I was seeing the sounds it was so loud from my perch in 206. These kids are just really, really special: those young men have NO QUIT and the crowd responded to that. Amazing. I wish the crowd would have been better earlier-- pre-scrum. 5 minutes before the tip the place looked like this: REALLY? C'mon Pony Crowd...this is the kind of game you knock off a few minutes early to get to. Take off at three, beat the traffic, and have a few beers at your favorite watering hole before you show up. Enjoy the kind of intimate access we have to the truly awesome program we're building.
Texas bites. Baylor sucks. As it was in the beginning, is now, and evermore shall be. Amen.

Right after that moment, I told my brother....only thing missing is the theme to ROCKY!

I'm too old to be jumping around and screaming like an idiot at 18-22 year olds like I did in my youth --- but I did it anyway. At one point in 7 Nation Army time out, both calves were cramping and my knees were shaking. I'm glad it didn't go to OT, or I may have needed an IV to keep this old fart playing her trombone and yelling at kids half her age.
Glad I could be in the band for this one. It's the most spent after a basketball game I can remember since I played in the band in law school in the triple OT game between Duke and North Carolina with Jeff Capel hitting the half court shot to send it to double OT, but this time, my team won.
And thanks for the story Hoopmanx.

These ARE special moments, with you and your girls and for all of us as Pony Fans. For Larry Brown to say he wasn't quite sure what he just witnessed, spoke volumes about our TEAM!!

Little hoopmanx dropping knowledge. The idea of SMU representation in Orlando is fantastic. I'm going to try and make it happen cause we "need to remind them."

I couldn't breathe in those last 2-3 minutes. I couldn't tell if the arena was shaking or I was shaking. It was both.

great job by everyone last night; so proud of this team and what they have accomplished. I sure hope someone is documenting this season because if these guys do run the table, it will make a great 30 for 30 story at some later date. And...it is so nice to have a home court advantage again after that was missing for so many years!

Thad has hinted (jokingly or not, unsure) at this all season.
