To be fair ...

Postby Ponyneighbor » Fri Jan 08, 2016 8:25 am

Yes, the opening video still stinks and the overall game production needs work, but props to the oft-maligned A/V production team for immediately cueing LL Cool J's Mama Said Knock You Out at the "don't call it a comeback" line after the buzzer sounded. And even better, they let it play for a minute or two, allowing the players and fans to savor the moment with an appropriate soundtrack before turning it over to the band for the alma mater. Nicely played.

I may be in the minority, but i thought the opening video was pretty good. I like the "ready or not, you can't hide" theme...

Nothing will compare to "I'm coming home", but thought this was pretty good.

I yearn for the day we forget that intro video existed. It's over, you're not going to bring back the same emotions that video and song had.

I concur with the thumbs down on intro video and thumbs up on post game music.

Even better in my mind was in the long delay after the rumble under the basket in the first half when they played Beastie Boys "you gotta fight"

I liked the intro much better - the campus shots give it a better feel. Also - kudos for coming back to 7 nation when it was a better time and the place was rockin. Game production was waaaay up.

Also - gotta say. The alumni band is way better then the regular band. They are louder, yell more - and are basically just rowdier. Might be because they aren't as music schoolish as the current band, but whatever there is no denying it.

One other suggestion - when they are playing in a time out, the director should scoot toward the visitors side more, so that when the players are playing toward him it is also right at the visitors bench. No reason they should hear their coach speak in the huddle if we can help it.

Only complaint about 7 nations army is they play the wrong section and volume should be a turn or two higher.

All recorded music should be louder in my view - it makes everything else turn up a notch.

Ok, I know nothing about game day presentation. We spend too much time griping about game day presentation. And I apologize for reviving game day presentation.

But we are remiss if we do not get the band to introduce the theme from The Magnificent Seven at some point and time.

They actually already play a version of the Magnificent Seven theme, that is arranged into Peruna. It's called Western Peruna.

I would like to hear two songs from the old days that were great crowd favorites back
in the time.

Midnight Cowboy & Theme from Rocky.

I have been told that this is part of the Alumni Band's songbook. Couldn't the AB loan
those songs to the Mustang Band?
