Bryan McCann Profile

Oklahoma cornerback Bryan McCann (5-11, 175, 4.45) has narrowed his choices to three schools: SMU, Tulsa and Stanford, with SMU having a slight edge. All have offered.
McCann visited Tulsa this weekend (December 16). "I really like head coach Steve Kragthorpe. He's a cool guy and I enjoy talking to him," McCann said. "He's a family man and seems very genuine. He says that I'd be a good fit for the program and that I'd be able to excel there. He says that he like for Oklahoma guys to stay in Oklahoma and it's nice because I know a bunch of guys on the team already."

The other official visit that McCann has already taken was to SMU on December 9. "I was really impressed by everything," McCann said. "I liked the players and coaches a lot and the school is great too. They have a really good business school and offer great intership opportunities in the Dallas area.

"I guess the differences between SMU and Tulsa is that SMU is a little more established," McCann said. "I really liked the family atmosphere at SMU. When we went out to eat, the coaches brought their wives and all the players knew them. They all interact with each other like a family and it seems like they really took time to get to know each other."

His final official visit will be to Stanford on January 13. McCann also visited Northwestern (October 28), but is no longer considering the Wildcats. "They didn't leave a big impression on me. It's too far away and too cold."

He reports a 3.8 GPA and a 25 ACT.

re: differences between Tulsa and SMU

No way we can convince the writer for Scout.com to throw in that Skelley's a toilet?

Good point. I made the road trip up there this year -- Highland Park HS has a nicer facility. Much nicer.

He could be a difference maker in the SMU uniform.

That would lock him up in a heartbeat.

Didn't this guy get hurt (knee?) as a senior? Anyone know what his speed is like now, or if he's even fully recovered?
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."

Hopefully this guy will commit soon. I've spent some (actually too much) time searching around the internet, and it sounds like he's damn good, and that his "rating" would be much higher without the injury that scared some schools off. Get him healthy and get him to the Hilltop!
