Officials don't like it when you publicly offer them money to call a game evenly. Most prefer to get their bribes in private... I learned that lesson when I offered an umpire $1,000 to give Ole Miss a call in the next game during a baseball series against TCU a few years ago (he threw his gum at me leaving the stadium).
