Funny watching Stallion melt down, and write a novel, every time someone disagrees with him.

We were badmouthing the [deleted]-poor job your hero was doing recruiting quality recruits-everybody should be able to see quite clearly the difference between the work put in by the June Jones staff and the Chad Morris staff. Nobody ever bad-mouthed an SMU commit with 24 offers-hell we were lucky if they had NTSU and UTSA offersJasonB wrote:The people on this board have been bad mouthing recruits for years. I don't see how it is going to magically stop now.
Regardless of offers or anything else, I look at the QBs CM recruited at Clemson and I trust that he can figure out what he needs to run his offense. If CM wants a player, that is good enough for me. The FACT that this was our first choice QB tells me we want him. I hope he sticks around and adds more competition.

No it was Robert Lewis I think-whose gone on to catch about 90 balls in his first 2 years of eligibility-but that related more to size which is a factor to evaluate-although not so much as a Run N Shoot Inside Receiver.

Both now that you mentioned it. He said Marks would not qualify and trashed his intelligence then he ended up not only qualifying but also playing as a true freshman at Washington State.Stallion wrote:No it was Robert Lewis I think.

His OL looks awful in those highlights. At least he has practice at running for his life.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Saying someone isn't D. Watson 2.0 "TODAY" is not badmouthing him. Saying someone could turn into Ward/Boykin in a few years is a complement in my book.Stallion wrote:Seriously? those highlites show OUTSTANDING patience and pocket presence. Check out his Game Performance thread-that has been may take on a bunch of game videos. He's relaxed in the pocket, doesn't panic-he keeps his eyes downfield. Guess your just going to have to disagree with me and 24 Head Coaches willing to offer him a scholarship. He is being recruited to run the spread-not the Run N Shoot. This kid fits the SMU offense perfectly with a very high upside. But I guess ONLY 8 P5 offers really sucks for a 2-10 program--and note just about every Top G5 program too like Houston, Temple, Memphis, UCF, South Florida

There are 8 QB's on that list. Most of them didn't make an impact the Fall. Many of them won't make an impact next Fall. Texas, desperate for decent QB play, would have loved for Kai Locksley to step up and take the QB job. He didn't - He couldn't. Although he turned out to be a very good college QB, Texas nearly ruined Gilbert by forcing him to play before he was ready.
Although there have (and will be) exceptional true freshman QB, they are the exception.
Do unto others before they do unto you!!

That is not true. You are thinking of other posters.Rebel10 wrote:Both now that you mentioned it. He said Marks would not qualify and trashed his intelligence then he ended up not only qualifying but also playing as a true freshman at Washington State.Stallion wrote:No it was Robert Lewis I think.
The only thing I ever mentioned in regards to Klemm's recruits was that some of them didn't end up qualifying academically. That they were sometimes risks getting into SMU (not all of them, of course. I believe Lasecki was his?). I never "trashed anyone's intelligence". The only thing I MIGHT have asked was if Lewis would be another BJ Lee (I think that is what his name was?).
I'd love to see a link if I said otherwise, and I'll apologize for it. But I try and make a point of not badmouthing kids even on the WDNWHA threads.

Personally I think our QB of the future has one more year at Refugio HS but that's just me.

Re: David Moore sr highlights
I thought they were June Jones' recruits? You think Chad Morris allows an offer to go out without his approval? Even before Klemm got to SMU June lead the state of Texas in non-qualifiers. Admit it-the fact that you are blaming Klemm is because June wasn't doing his jobJasonB wrote:That is not true. You are thinking of other posters.Rebel10 wrote:Both now that you mentioned it. Did David Moore come to SMU last weekend? I thought I saw him listed as coming for his 'official', but have seen nothing on it since. I'm beginning to feel that a QB that can't make a decision in 9-12 months doesn't belong leading this class.

Common practice nowadays, can't fault the players. Although Morris can't be happy with him taking an official, to a conference foe, 4 days before signing day.Mexmustang wrote:Did David Moore come to SMU last weekend? Likely he stays, devastating if he flips last second.

Re: David Moore sr highlights
But, did he or didn't he come? I understand a 17-18 year old having second thoughts, just not happy that this involves a QB, this late in the game. Why not Oct., Nov., or even December? Your QB is supposed to a confident leader, not an uncertain follower.
