Re: Carmouche commits!Man fbdad you are a beating
Re: Carmouche commits!as I said in another thread-Dae hasn't played LB last year either so he wouldn't start at a new position either. I'm not worried about 2016-I've always been on the 3-4 year plan and hopefully we can go bowling in 2017 which has always been the year I'm focused on. You're the one losing your [deleted] about the performance of a defense with no infusion of new talent in 2015 when none of those guys are going to be around when we turn it around. Next year we are going to have about 23 new freshman/redshirt freshman which will be the greatest 1 year infusion of defensive talent at SMU since the Death Penalty. Those are the guys that will turn the defense around. And guess what SMU's defense will still probably suck in 2016 but they will make strides in 2017 and strong by 2018

Re: Carmouche commits!
Ok, I got it now. You already knew Carmouche was being recruited as a RB, it just made your Williams argument look better if you implied Carmouche was a better LB. Much better, thanks for the insight. ![]()
Re: Carmouche commits!Wayne Gallman was recruited by most schools as a LB, but Chad knew better.
Re: Carmouche commits!
They will give him a legit shot a RB. You don't lie to a kid who kid like that. If it does not work out he can fall back to LB. #HammerDown
Re: Jordan Carmouche commitsIf he is that great an athlete maybe he will be a very successful running back in the AAC. We could really use a big banger.
Re: Jordan Carmouche commitsGet the best athletes you can on campus and sort it out later. TCU was great at recruiting athletes across the board and putting them in the best position to succeed. A rising tide raises all ships. There is more collective talent in this recruiting class than anything we've seen since the mid 80's.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Carmouche commits!
You hit the nail on the head. This turn around is going to take time. Everyone should get realistic and understand exactly what is happening, that which is necessary and the time involved. Next year is going to be another frustrating season despite vast improvements, but the creation of depth, experience and the up grade in talent will be evident.
Re: Carmouche commits!I sure hope Memphis doesn't offer him.

Re: Carmouche commits!Everything we are doing is building for 2017 and beyond. If we can put together a 4-6 win season next year then fantastic but we are trying to build a team that can win this conference in the coming years. Houston has a big head start on us but we are going to sign the #2 class in our conference having won three games in two years. Flat out amazing.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Carmouche commits!Getting into any bowl (any bowl) should be the goal for 2016, and considering we'll have another year of offensive development and senior leadership under center, I think that's a realistic goal to shoot for.
The main reason I would like to see this (other than for purely selfish reasons as a fan) is that I want the extra practices, which will pay dividends in 2017 where I'd like to see us challenge for a conference title. Re: Carmouche commits!Sure its a goal-it was a goal this year. It was a goal the years we went 0-12. Its not likely though because there will be less development from returning defensive personnel than there will be a transition to the 23 or so freshman and redshirt freshman who have zero experience. We are going to be much younger on defense in 2016 than we were in 2015. These true freshman and redshirt freshman are going to play. Freshmen make mistakes but they grow.
On the positive side-the offense is a year ahead in the rebuilding process and will continue to make strides and just may be able to outscore some folks. Goal there is to average 500 yards per game So yeah-SMU's goal in 2016 is to go to a Bowl-see I said it "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Carmouche commits!Great get any way you slice it! Welcome to the family!
4 wins next year, bowling in 2017, ranked in 2018, AAC champs in 2019 then P5/6.
Re: Carmouche commits!
I would be pretty happy at this point with that kind of progression, though I'll be greedy and say we should win the conference in 2018 if we're ranked ![]()
