with Thomas already enrolled and ready to compete in spring practice for time at RB, we are suddenly looking pretty deep at that position. Nice to have another RB with size who could make the transition to LB if that's what it takes to get on the field.

It's not a realistic goal if you've seen the schedule. We're going to be underdogs in at least 9 games.

We'll need a lot of luck to hit 6-6, if we are 2-2 going into AAC play, it's possible. I love your enthusiasm!

Stallion wrote:Sure its a goal-it was a goal this year. It was a goal the years we went 0-12. Its not likely though because there will be less development from returning defensive personnel than there will be a transition to the 23 or so freshman and redshirt freshman who have zero experience. We are going to be much younger on defense in 2016 than we were in 2015. These true freshman and redshirt freshman are going to play. Freshmen make mistakes but they grow.
On the positive side-the offense is a year ahead in the rebuilding process and will continue to make strides and just may be able to outscore some folks. Goal there is to average 500 yards per game
So yeah-SMU's goal in 2016 is to go to a Bowl-see I said it
As we know the offense will makes strides only when our line gets more talent and it still has a ways to go.

we were one of the tops in the Country in increased offensive production with a mediocre line-we're going to make a big jump up this year too on Offense. We are loaded with young talent at the skill positions. Freshman that were just trying to survive and going to make plays this year

2-2 is very very possible. We have UNT and Liberty (not that we should be overlooking fcs schools anymore haha) The problem is that what looks like 3 of our easiest AAC opponents (Tulane, Tulsa, ECU) are on the road this year I think. But with guys like Carmouche coming in and the talent in last class we should definitely be competitive in a lot more games and win some

It took a shifty slashing runner like Jones to make our line look good at times last year. I know it will be better this year but it still has a lot of room for improvement. But we are going to get there and on both sides of the ball.

I hope you are right, but keep in mind that we lost two seniors on that horrible o-line and they are both replaced by underclassmen...

I suggest, if they sign a letter, we are getting some VERY talented O linemen. True they will be freshman, but they might play. Also, it will be interesting to see how much off season improvement the OL makes under the Morris staff.

OL isn't easy. I'd much rather have someone step up than a frosh step in. Even the two all-world frosh that UT got last year struggled on the line. I'd also point out that as much as the line struggled last year, we still redshirted Wilds even though he was a pretty solid recruit. Next year will be McCarty's 4th year on campus, and the third for Brown, Hyder, Barns, and that group. Hopefully with a full year of conditioning/strength, experience in college, and a year of the new offense under their belt, some of them make significant improvements.

Right plus the defense might be better next year as well. Unfortunately because of the Palcic/Suan low level recruiting it is what it is. But as Stallion pointed out we do have some studs coming in on the O-Line this year. We need to be 6-6 next year.

If we can put together a 4-6 win season next year then fantastic but we are trying to build a team that can win this conference in the coming years. Houston has a big head start on us but we are going to sign the #2 class in our conference having won three games in two years. Flat out amazing.
