People leave 2 mins early at EVERY sporting event EVER. Super Bowl? Yup. Duke BBall? Yup. Mavs? Yup. Cowgirls? Yup. There are some things to complain about (see: MOB) but for everything else, I believe should be filed under Long-winded BS.
-Guy who doesnt leave early but also doesnt always show and can't always unload the tickets because he is a young alum corporate lemming
Do Duke Fans really leave games in droves when Duke has the ball and a chance to tie or take the lead with under 2 min to go? Kind of surprised by that. Am sure our resident Duke Fan experts can weigh in on that one.
You got me. No clue if that happens at Duke. But being a MD fan, it happens there. Used Duke instead since this board sometimes gets on Dukes [deleted].

Old alum has two seats next to us and they live in Florida. Seen them three times in three years. Never give them away to anyone.

Just charge for the mob seats. 200 bucks a season.

I don't understand why the ticket office doesn't do something about this. They should be able to see that their tix are scanned only one game year. Call them and ask if they can resale the tix or give them away. Maybe they do and the people decline but I bet in these cases 95% of the time the people would agree to let someone else use them.

I'm glad you're not the athletic ticket manager.

The seat next to me has been untouched for 3 years. Except, at halftime of the Louisville game an old man came up and said he needed to grab his shirt. Sat in the seat for 10 seconds and said, "wow, this is actually a pretty good seat." Never have seen him since. Every year I complain to the ticket office begging to buy that seat and they don't do a thing about it.

As long as they get the $$ they don't care if someone sits in there or not.

If this is true, that is just irritating as all get out. Can't stand that.

OU has had the same problem for years in basketball. They tie donations together (basketball and football) so you have a bunch of people who buy basketball tickets just to get better OU/texas football tickets.
With technology today the ticket office can easily tell which seats aren't being scanned at games. A call needs to be made to the people who aren't there and tell them to either put them up for sale or just even call the ticket office back and they will put the tickets up for sale for them.
One of the problems with reselling tickets is that must of the big donors have so much money they really don't care about throwing away a few hundred bucks away on unused tickets.
The ticket office has to make it worthwhile and so easy that even the novice computer person can put them up for sale.

I don't believe that is true. I reprinted my tickets once and those barcodes aren't linked to my account. I received a letter from SMU wondering why I didn't use my seats and asking to call them if I ever wasn't going to use them in the future. I know I sit in a premium, in demand section, but the fact is that they do care if the seats are filled or not.
