"He's got a big shot, a high IQ," Larry Brown said of his point guard. "You can't make a kid play hard or make them compete. You can't put enough stock into the makeup of a kid and he kind of exemplifies everything that I think is important."

25 and 11 last night! the guy is a winner! He hasn't had an amazing year shooting the ball but all of our close games, he has been clutch at the end going back to TCU, cinci, Houston, even that Tulsa game he hit 2 big 3s when we were behind

He was fantastic. 10 minute stretch in the second half, he was absolutely feeling it and was awesome, starting with the two drives he got fouled and they didn't give him the basket for. He had everything going at that point. I think from the last two games maybe his hand has healed :).

Really cool how LB described Nic in the post-game press conference.

"He exemplifies everything that I think you want to be around. He's tough. He cares. He's simply a winner."

I swear at the 13 minutes mark, he said we've gotta make a move or we lose. Our little Sherpa strapped us to his back and led up the mountain

I've been an SMU fan for 16 years...Nic is by far and away my favorite athlete I've seen put on a Mustang jersey in any sport.

I completely agree w/ the idea of hanging his jersey in the rafters on sr. night.

If you watched the game on tv, the commentator said when needed, Nic would take over with about 5 minutes. At the 17 minute mark Nic started his show. Commentator remarked that it was beginning but about 12 minutes early. It was a beautiful thing to see.

Yeah, that's a pretty fair analogy.

The thing that stands out to me is Nic's sheer will to win. He's just not going to lose. Very rarely does that superpower fail him or us.

Full disclosure: when he transferred, I actually thought a guy his size would never make much of an impact.

Good thing they hired LB and not me, huh?

Nic might be the best SMU player I have ever seen. I never saw Koncak or Terrell or others from that generation, but since then, who's better?

I think we can thank Coach Jank for Nic's being here at SMU. Remember that Larry ran off JFrog, who was the same size as Nic and posted similar stats his FR season. Larry wanted NBA length and neither guy fit the bill, so I assume Jank may have had to convince Larry that Nic was special

^^^No-One. If you went to the Gonzaga game - you may have seen 3-4 of the best SMU basketball players to have played since the Koncak era.

Not sure about the Lance analogy. Wasn't Lance an average player who was surrounded by blue Chip superstars who made him that much better vs. Nic who is THE superstar and makes everyone around him that much better...

you said discuss - so there.
