Sterling and Bease were there a few weeks ago. Maybe SMU is finally starting to understand "family".

Can't say for the rest of the university but this team has bought into that hook line and sinker.

All his threes are from the corner. He can't hit anything straight away, including free throws :). I wonder if this is a pattern with LB, similar to Sterling for wing players - year 1, practice the three from the corner over and over again and become reliable. Year 2, the free throw. Year 3 the mid-range J.

Thomas Morstead, former SMU kicker and now with the New Orleans Saints was at the Gonzaga game. He was so happy claiming that he is now 3-0 at SMU games. Two years ago at the California game that sent us to Madison Square Garden and the NIT Finals. He was also at the SMU at Tulane game earlier this season!

The only thing he lacks is that he's not 6' 5" but in his case he doesn't have to be. I think what you guys miss is the fact when Nic has the ball he's thinking at least 3 moves ahead. There's a reason he went and played for Kansas and started during the University Games. LB did not recruit Nic he came with Jank. I think Shake will be fine at PG next year. Throughout the whole time I've been on PF I've seen comments that was on point and some not on point. A good example would be a Parade All American in football from Indiana would probably be 2nd or 3rd team all state in Tex. A Parade All American in basketball from Tex would be 2nd team all state in Indiana. Obviously there's exceptions to the rule in both scenarios. The future looks bright for Mustang bball. Make no mistake Nic Moore is a PG.

Absolutely Nic Moore is a PG. IMO best with the ball in his hands.

Several things, Nic is a PG, no doubt. He's just not the pro typical NBA style PG they want. Remember, after Brown cut loose JFrog, it was all about Josiah Turner. After Turner bailed, we had an additional visit or two from bigger PGs, prior to Nic being allowed to visit. Don't get me wrong, they may have turned to Nic first, if not for Jank leaving Ill st on such weird terms. Took almost 35 days, from Browns hiring, just to get Nic on campus.

Either way, we lucked into a legend.

Not to get into the 'whose a better coach' debate, I wonder if what Larry said, which I am glad he did, will hinder the chance to get any scholarships back. Personally, if I were the ncaa I would be pretty ticked at Larry for calling them out.

I hear what you are saying, but if what Coach Brown is saying influences how the NCAA comes down on the scholarship reductions that would be exhibit A on what is wrong with the NCAA. Look, we all already know that the NCAA does not give a rats [deleted] about SMU. They only care about the P5 teams.

Or maybe they are realizing most of the sports world knows he is right, and the only way they can retain and credibility at all is to reduce the sanctions.

From what I understand, we've already won multiple appeals on our APR situation, so no reason not to expect to win the schollies reductions. All we need is roughly 2 back. Even if we don't get any back, it's not going to gut the program. We have like 5 games left of the worst the NCAA can do to us. Hope they enjoy us sitting in March, cause they didn't stop the train. It's rolling downhill now, partially bc they showed so little mercy, we've become a cult hero program. Win in spite of them, wear the black hat, reload. You don't need 13 schollies kids ever.

I agree you probably don't ever "need " 13 schollies but it's nice to have in case of injury. I think Ideally you have 9 guys getting 10+ minutes during the regular season to help develop/keep important players fresh. Then in post season play you shorten to a 7-8 man rotation.
