New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsLast night was the debut of HBO's "Hard Knocks" style entry into college sports. They have a 5 week series about Gonzaga which ends with Selection Sunday. http://www.slipperstillfits.com/2016/2/ ... to-madness
I'm sure it'll be repeated all week. Last night's episode dealt with the last 2 games of the recent 4 game road trip (Portland and SMU). I thought the comments that SMU was a "top 5" level team ... showing President Bush a couple of times ... a few Nic Moore highlights was "positive" for your program.
Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsThank you for sharing this link and for your comments. Last week's game was a great contest. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsThanks for your post and link. The game with Gonzaga was one of the best and
your team helped make Moody a truly Magical place to be. Electricity was in the air. We needed that game badly as did G U. Good luck with the rest of your season. I hope you win your conference and your tournament and go far in the Big Dance
Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsThanks for the link. Outside of SMU, I'm a fan of Gonzaga. I always pull for them to do well in the Tournament.
Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsI just watched it on HBO. Very fair to SMU and great publicity.
Long live Inez Perez!
Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsI just saw the episode and it was well done. Good to see SMU basketball discussed with some reverence. I was a little surprised that they didn't mention Larry Brown's name as far as I remember. A reference to his story might have better illustrated what the Zags ran into at Moody.
Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsIs HBO gonna be upset when Gonzaga doesn't get in the tournament this year?
Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsThink HBO has an in with the selection committee?
Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsI heard HBO has a rep on the selection committee unlike the AAC...
Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsThanks for sharing and posting on our site. Your comments further confirms my belief that Gonzaga and it's fans are good people.

Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoops
It is understandable why you may not be paying attention to the selection process this year. The committee uses RPI to "slot"'teams that have made it into the field .... But uses a hybrid of KenPom, BPI and Sagarin for their actual "metrics". Zags are Top 30 in each .... 29 KenPom, 30 BPI and 21 Sagarin. Twice during the current 17 (going on 18) consecutive NCAA tourney streak the Zags' resume was at a point where they needed to win the "auto-bid" to get in. They did so. Barring an unlikely collapse down the stretch .... Top 30 in each of the 3 measures that are used should be enough. But your concern is noted and appreciated.
New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsYes, we are very familiar with how the selection committee always relies on equatable metrics across the board in determining both selection and seed. COUGH
Re: New HBO series "flatters" SMU hoopsI'm thinking we are a 5 seed
