UConn would do that to some men's teams.

UConn women's team doesn't have to recruit...they select their players. We can't even compete with the talent on that roster

I think we all understand the talent/ recruiting issues, but my comments were regarding court spacing, defensive body/foot positioning, conditioning, hands up, elbow technique shooting....etc. We are fundamentally way behind. I think our kids have talent and certainly not to the extent of UConn, but we should not be so embarrassingly overwhelmed.

You are ignoring the physical discrepancy. As UConn is bigger, stronger and faster at every position, footwork and hand positioning won't make up the difference.

I had a conversation with an ex player a couple of years ago that raised some concerns about how she was progressing with today's culture. She has put in a lot of time and effort into SMU, but there are reasons why the team isn't competing on the same level it once did.

Take UConn out of the picture and we are still not doing well in the AAC. WBB team lost to UCF twice by double digits and to Tulane by double digits twice.

There are a lot more players from Duncanville, Skyline, etc on the roster now vs. Rhonda's first few teams in the early to mid 90s. Definitely a different culture coming out of South Dallas into SMU - and adjusting. Tough adjustment to make - as we have seen with KF. I would guess that it may be an even tougher adjustment for an 18 yo woman to make.

A lot more transfers now than before as well. Another tough adjustment to make coming into SMU as a transfer.

We should at least be more competitive against UCF and Tulane.
